Club Ananya celebrates I-Day with kids of Kaguiluang LP School, Silchar

August 15: When it comes to the celebration of Independence Day, every Indian gets inspired and rejuvenated inspite of their own busy schedule. The all-female active socio-cultural association of Silchar, Club Ananya too celebrated the 73rd Independence Day in a befitting manner.

Wearing saffron-green-white attire, the members of Club Ananya spent the day with the children of 1064, Kaguiluang Lower Primary School, Naga Colony near Fatak Bazar, Silchar. The day began with hoisting the tricolour by the Head Teacher of the school in presence of the members of Ananya. The little children of the school were seen to wave national flags.

This was followed by interaction among the children and the members of Ananya. Various indoor games competition were held among the students of the school and they were also awarded prizes. The children were also given refreshment by Ananya. The prizes were handed over by the Club members. Many Naga girls of the locality were also present in the school dressed in their traditional attire. The school children also sang many patriotic songs.

Present during the occasion were President of Club Ananya Sompa Dhar, Secretary Sampa Banik, Madhuparna Basak, Madhumita Paul, Sangita Roy, Soma Das and Debjani Roy.

Speaking to way2barak, Sampa Banik, Secretary of Club Ananya said, “We feel ourselves fortunate to be able to spend quality time with these little children who are the future of our nation. We have organised this programme as a part of our social commitment. India is a vast country but if all of us in our own little way inspire the children to use their potential then that day will not be far when our country will reach the top in all respects.”
