শিলচর রেল স্টেশন সাফাই করে স্বচ্ছতার বার্তা

[২২ সেপ্টেম্বর : গত মন কি বাতে প্রধানমন্ত্রী নরেন্দ্র মোদি সারা দেশে পক্ষকালব্যাপী ‘স্বচ্ছতা ই-সেবা’ কর্মসূচির ঘোষণা করেছিলেন। এই অভিযান গত ১৫ সেপ্টেম্বর থেকে শুরু হয়েছে এবং তা চলবে আগামী ২ অক্টোবর পর্যন্ত। জাতির পিতা মহাত্মা গান্ধীর স্বচ্ছ ভারত অভিযানের স্বপ্নকে বাস্তবে রূপ দিতে আজ শিলচর রেলওয়ে স্টেশন চত্বর ও তার আশপাশ অঞ্চলকে পরিচ্ছন্ন করে তুলতে এই কর্মসূচির সূচনা করা হয়। এই কর্মসূচিতে প্লাস্টিক মুক্ত পরিবেশ গঠনের আহ্বানও জানানো হয়েছে।

আজ সকালে শিলচর রেলওয়ে স্টেশনে এই স্বচ্ছতা অভিযান কর্মসূচির আয়োজন করে ডিস্ট্রিক্ট ওয়াটার অ্যান্ড স্যানিটেশন কমিটি। এতে সহযোগিতার হাত বাড়িয়ে দেয় উত্তর-পূর্ব সীমান্ত রেলওয়ে শিলচর এবং রোটারি ক্লাব অব গ্রেটার শিলচর। ৫০ জনেরও বেশি মানুষ এই কর্মসূচিতে অংশ নেন। তারা পুরো প্ল্যাটফর্ম ও তার আশপাশ থেকে প্লাস্টিক এবং অন্যান্য আবর্জনা তুলে নিয়ে ডাস্টবিনে ফেলেন। এই কর্মসূচি দু’ ঘণ্টারও বেশি সময় ধরে চলে।

এই কর্মসূচিতে অংশ নিয়ে শিলচর রেলওয়ে স্টেশনের সুপারিনটেনডেন্ট বিপ্লব দাস বলেন, আজ দেশের বেশিরভাগ শহরে আমাদের চোখে পড়ে মানুষ যেখানে সেখানে আবর্জনা ফেলছেন। আর এতে নদী, বায়ু, এমনকি খাবার সামগ্রীও দূষিত হচ্ছে। তিনি বলেন, ‘প্রধানমন্ত্রীর আহবানে সাড়া দিয়ে আমরা এই কর্মসূচির আয়োজন করেছি এবং আমি ও আমার এখানকার কর্মীরা এতে যোগ দিতে পেরে খুব খুশি।

পিএইচই ডিভিশন 2 শিলচরের কার্যনির্বাহী বাস্তুকার এ বি চৌধুরী বলেছেন, মানুষ যাতে তার আশপাশটা সুন্দর ও পরিচ্ছন্ন রাখেন, সেজন্য সচেতনতা গড়ে তুলতে এই কর্মসূচির আয়োজন করেছে ডিস্ট্রিক্ট ওয়াটার অ্যান্ড স্যানিটেশন কমিটি।

এই অভিযানে অন্যদের মধ্যে উপস্থিত ছিলেন পিএইচই ডিভিশন 1 শিলচর-এর কার্যনির্বাহী বাস্তুকার অলক বিশ্বাস, রোটারি ক্লাবের সভাপতি সহ অন্যরা।

September 22: The government of India has announced a fortnight-long Swachhata hi Seva drive all over the country from September 15 to October 2, following its mention in Prime Minister Modi’s last Mann ki Baat. Under Swachhata hi Seva cleanliness drive, Silchar Railway Station too pledged to keep its surroundings ‘swachh’ and plastic free by doing shramdaan and bringing Gandhi’s vision of Swachh Bharat to reality.

The Cleanliness Drive at Silchar Railway Station was organized by District Water & Sanitation Committee, Silchar in collaboration with N.F.Railway Silchar and Rotary Club of Greater Silchar on Saturday morning. The activity started with more than 50 persons. They cleaned the platforms and its entire surroundings by picking up plastics and wastes and putting it in the dustbins. The activity continued for more than 2 hours.

Speaking during the occasion Bilpob Das, Station Superintendent of Silchar Railway Station said that, “Today we see mounds of garbage lying everywhere in Indian cities, people throwing litter everywhere without batting an eye — polluted rivers, polluted air, polluted foodstuffs. In keeping in tune with the call given by our honourable Prime Minister we have undertaken this programme and I feel happy to involve myself and my staff in this drive.”

A.B. Choudhury, Executive Engineer of PHE Division 1I, Silchar too said that this drive undertaken by District Water & Sanitation Committee, Silchar is enabling to motivate people to keep their surroundings clean.

Apart from Biplob Das and A.B. Choudhury, present during the occasion were Alok Biswas, Executive Engineer of PHE Division I, Silchar, Joyjit Biswas, President of Rotary Club of Greater Silchar among others.
