ওয়ে টু বরাক, ১৯ ডিসেম্বর : উত্তর-পূর্বাঞ্চলে দক্ষতা উন্নয়ন, প্রযুক্তিনির্ভর শিক্ষা ও অসামরিক–সামরিক সহযোগিতা জোরদার করার লক্ষ্যে আসাম বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের সহযোগিতা চাইল ভাইরেংটির কাউন্টার ইনসার্জেন্সি অ্যান্ড জঙ্গল ওয়ারফেয়ার স্কুল। বৃহস্পতিবার এনিয়ে বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের আন্তর্জাতিক অতিথিশালায় উপাচার্য অধ্যাপক রাজীব মোহন পন্থ সহ অন্য পদস্থ আধিকারিকদের সঙ্গে এক বৈঠকে মিলিত হন সিআইজেডব্ল্যু স্কুলের কমান্ড্যান্ট মেজর জেনারেল কুলবীর সিং। সঙ্গে ছিলেন মেজর মনীশ বনসাল।

বৈঠকে উভয় প্রতিষ্ঠানের মধ্যে ভবিষ্যৎ যৌথ উদ্যোগের রূপরেখা নিয়ে বিস্তারিত আলোচনা হয়। জাতীয় নিরাপত্তায় আধুনিক প্রযুক্তির ব্যবহার, বিশেষ করে কৃত্রিম বুদ্ধিমত্তার (এআই) গুরুত্ব তুলে ধরে মেজর জেনারেল সিং বলেন, ভবিষ্যৎ চ্যালেঞ্জ মোকাবিলায় সশস্ত্র বাহিনীর জন্য এআই প্রশিক্ষণ অত্যন্ত প্রয়োজনীয়। এ বিষয়ে আসাম বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের সহযোগিতায় বিশেষ প্রশিক্ষণমূলক কোর্স চালুর প্রস্তাব দেন তিনি।

উপাচার্য অধ্যাপক পন্থ বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের স্কিল হাব ইনিশিয়েটিভের আওতায় পরিচালিত বিভিন্ন দক্ষতা উন্নয়ন কর্মসূচির কথা তুলে ধরেন এবং এই কর্মসূচি সামরিক–অসামরিক উভয় ক্ষেত্রেই কাজে লাগানো যেতে পারে বলে জানান। এছাড়াও উপাচার্য বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের ছাত্রীদের জন্য সিআইজেডব্ল্যু স্কুলের বিশেষজ্ঞদের মাধ্যমে আত্মরক্ষা প্রশিক্ষণ কোর্স চালুর অনুরোধ জানান। মেজর জেনারেল সিং উপাচার্যের এই প্রস্তাবে সম্মতিও প্রদান করেন।

এদিনের বৈঠকে ডিন (অ্যাকাডেমিকস) অধ্যাপক চিররঞ্জন ভট্টাচার্য, ডিন (রিসার্চ অ্যান্ড কনসালটেন্সি) অধ্যাপক পীয়ূষ পাণ্ডে, পরীক্ষা নিয়ন্ত্রক ড. সুপ্রবীর দত্তরায়, কলেজ ডেভেলপমেন্ট কাউন্সিলের ডিরেক্টর জয়ন্ত ভট্টাচার্য সহ বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের বিভিন্ন বিভাগের অধ্যাপক ও আধিকারিকরা উপস্থিত ছিলেন।

Way2barak, December 19 : With the objective of strengthening skill development, technology-driven education, and civil–military cooperation in the Northeast, the Counter Insurgency and Jungle Warfare School (CIJWS), Vairengte, has sought collaboration with Assam University. On Thursday, the Commandant of CIJWS, Major General Kulvir Singh, along with Major Manish Bansal, met the Vice-Chancellor of Assam University, Professor Rajive Mohan Pant, and other senior officials at the university’s International Guest House.

During the meeting, detailed discussions were held on the framework for future joint initiatives between the two institutions. Highlighting the importance of modern technology in national security, particularly artificial intelligence (AI), Major General Singh emphasized that AI training is essential for the armed forces to meet future challenges. He proposed the introduction of specialized training courses with the support of Assam University in this regard.

Vice-Chancellor Prof. Pant outlined the various skill development programmes being conducted under the university’s Skill Hub initiative and noted that these could be effectively utilized in both military and civilian sectors. He also requested the launch of self-defence training courses for female students of the university with the help of experts from CIJWS. Major General Singh agreed to the Vice-Chancellor’s proposal.

The meeting was attended by Dean (Academics) Prof. Chiraranjan Bhattacharjee, Dean (Research and Consultancy) Prof. Piyush Pandey, Controller of Examinations Dr. Suprabir Dutta Roy, Director of the College Development Council Jayanta Bhattacharjee, along with professors and officials from various departments of the university.
