Centenary celebration of Karimganj Mission begins with a colourful procession

2 ডিসেম্বর: একশো বছরে পা দিল করিমগঞ্জ রামকৃষ্ণ মিশন। এই উপলক্ষে শনিবার ৫ দিনের কর্মসূচি শুরু হয়েছে। সকালে মিশন চত্বরে স্বামীজির ব্রোঞ্জ নির্মিত মূর্তির আবরণ উন্মোচন হয়। উন্মোচন করলেন বেলুড় মঠের ভাইস প্রেসিডেন্ট স্বামী গৌতমানন্দ মহারাজ ও সাধারণ সম্পাদক স্বামী সুবীরানন্দ মহারাজ। পরে বের হয় শোভাযাত্রা।

বিশাল শোভাযাত্রা। অত্যন্ত সুশৃঙ্খল, সুসজ্জিত। দেশ-বিদেশের মহারাজরা তাতে অংশ নেন। ছিলেন ডারবান মিশনের সচিব স্বামী সুমনসানন্দ, মস্কো মিশনের সচিব স্বামী জ্যোতিরূপানন্দ, সিলেট মিশনের সচিব স্বামী চন্দ্রনাথানন্দ। বেলুড় মঠের সহ-সম্পাদক স্বামী তত্ত্ববিদানন্দ মহারাজও মিছিলে হাঁটেন। শতবর্ষ উপলক্ষে মন্দিরে নির্মাণ করা হয়েছে দুর্গা মণ্ডপ, প্রসাদ বিতরণ হল ও অডিটোরিয়াম। প্রকাশিত হয় স্মারক পত্রিকাও। করিমগঞ্জ মিশনের সচিব স্বামী প্রভাসানন্দ মহারাজ জানান, পাঁচ দিন ধরে দফায় দফায় হবে আলোচনা সভা, গান-কীর্তন।

December 2: Ramakrishna Mission, Karimganj has completed 100 glorious years of its existence. In this regard, a 5-day programme was chalked out, which saw its beginning on Saturday. The bronze statue of Swami Vivekananda was formally inaugurated in the Mission campus early in the morning on Saturday. It was inaugurated by the Vice President of Belur Math Swami Gautamananda Maharaj and General Secretary Swami Subirananda Maharaj. This was followed by a colourful procession.

A large number of people participated in this procession led from the front by the monks of the Ramakrishna order. BJP State President Ranjit Das too walked along the street with the monks and the devotees. Other monks who took part in this grand procession are Swami Sumanasananda from Durban Mission, Swami Jyotirupananda from Moscow Mission, Swami Chandranathananda from Sylhet Mission and Swami Tattabidhananda from Belur Math. To commemorate the centenary of the Karimganj Mission, an auditorium, a pandal for doing Durga Puja and a shed for distrivuting ‘prasadam’ will be constructed. Swami Pravashananda Maharaj, Secretary of Karimganj Mission informed that  panel discussions, devotional songs and other events will mark the 5-day long celebrations.
