CC TV to be installed at Silchar before Puja, Strength of police to be increased

২৫ সেপ্টেম্বরঃ পুজোর আগে সেজে উঠছে কাছাড়ের পুলিশ বাহিনী। শহরের গুরুত্বপূর্ণ জায়গাগুলোতে সিসি ক্যামেরা বসানো হচ্ছে। সাইবার সেলকে বিশেষভাবে সক্রিয় করা হয়েছে। কাটছে দীর্ঘদিনের অফিসার-স্বল্পতা। কিছুদিনের মধ্যে আসছেন ১৫জন প্রবেশনারি সাব-ইন্সপেক্টর। কাছাড়ে পুজো নির্বিঘ্নে কাটবে বলেই আশাবাদী পুলিশ সুপার রাকেশ রৌশন। মঙ্গলবার সাংবাদিকদের সঙ্গে আলাপচারিতায় তিনি বলেন, সিসি ক্যামেরাগুলি চলে এসেছে। জায়গাগুলিও আগে থেকেই চিহ্নিত। দুর্গোতসবের আগেই সেগুলি বসে যাবে। তাতে শহরের অপরাধপ্রবণতা অনেকটা কমে যাবে। তাঁদের তদন্তেও সিসি ক্যামেরা অনেক সহায়ক বলে দাবি করেন রৌশনবাবু। তাঁর কথায়, বড়-ছোট বহু অপরাধে এখন সোশ্যাল মিডিয়া বেশ প্রভাব ফেলে। এর দৌলতে গুজব বা মিথ্যা তথ্য দ্রুত ছড়িয়ে পড়ে। গণপ্রহারের মতো ঘটনাতেও দেখা গিয়েছে, সোশ্যাল মিডিয়ার জন্যই প্রাণহানি ঘটছে।

গণপ্রহারের ঘটনা নিয়েও কাছাড় পুলিশ বিশেষ সতর্কতা অবলম্বন করেছে বলে রৌশনবাবু জানিয়েছেন। তিনি বলেন, সে জন্য স্পেশাল টাস্ক ফোর্স গঠন করা হয়েছে। অ্যাডিশনাল পুলিশ সুপার রাকেশ রেড্ডি এই দলের নেতৃত্বে দেবেন। সমস্ত থানার ওসি এই ফোর্সে রয়েছেন। তিনি নিজে এর চেয়ারম্যান।

কার্বি আংলংয়ের ঘটনার সুবাদে রাজ্য জুড়ে জেলা পর্যায়ে টাস্ক ফোর্স তৈরি হচ্ছে। তবে গণপ্রহারে মৃত্যুর ঘটনা কাছাড়েও বেশ কয়েকবার ঘটেছে। চা বাগানে যেমন ডাইনি সন্দেহে পিটিয়ে মারা হয়েছে, তেমনি ছেলেধরা সন্দেহেও গণপ্রহারে মৃত্যু ঘটেছে।

পুলিশ সুপার এ দিন নেহা বাগতি ইস্যুতে মুখ খোলেন। তিনি জানান, এই মামলার ফাইল এখনও বন্ধ হয়নি। চেষ্টা চলছে তাঁকে খুঁজে বের করার। সেইসঙ্গে দুষ্কৃতীদের সন্ধানেও পুলিশি ততপরতা অব্যাহত রয়েছে।

September 25: Cachar Police is all set to get a makeover before Durga Puja. CC TV cameras will be installed in the major parts of the town. Special arrangements are made to strengthen the cyber cell. Within a few days, 15 Probationary Sub Inspectors will be joining the district. Police Super Rakesh Roushan is hopeful Puja in this district will be devoid of any sorts of problem. Stringent security measures were taken to ensure a safe Durga Puja for the people of the district.

While interacting with the press on Tuesday, Police Super informed that the CC TV cameras have already reached Silchar. The places where these cameras are to be installed have already been earmarked. These will be installed before Durga Puja, which would definitely curb the occurrences of anti-social activities. He claimed that these CC TV cameras would also help the police in their investigation. Cachar Police is also adopting several preventive steps including formation of a special task force to combat mob lynching augmented by rumours on social media.

Rakesh Roushan informed that the Special Task Force will be led by Additional police Super Rakesh Reddy. The OCs of all the police stations will be the members of this task force and he himself will act as its Chairman.

Mr.Roushan also mentioned about the incident of Neha Bagti after a long time. He said that the case is still not shut down. Efforts are been on to trace her. Along with it, police are also trying to ascertain the whereabouts of the miscreants involved in this incident.
