Cachar district administration celebrates ‘National Girl Child Day 2020’

January 24: Celebrating the National Girl Child Day 2020, District Administration Cachar organised a rally to promote the campaign for ‘Beti Bachao, Beti padao’ in the district. Deputy commissioner Barnali Sharma flagged off a rally in this connection. Great enthusiasm was noticed among the participants who included staff of District administration, students, youngsters and local citizens as well.

Encouraging the girls, Deputy commissioner Sharma said that this campaign is not just for implementation of a certain scheme, but it aims to develop the entire society. Citing the famous line from Napoleon Bonaparte who had said “give me a good mother, I will give you a good Nation,” Barnali Sharma said that education is the real asset given to a woman which fuels women empowerment goal in the true sense of the term.

The Deputy commissioner expected that with this campaign, the idea to uplift the status of women in the district and across the state shall be fulfilled. It needs mention that Cachar district has been organising various events to promote the ‘Beti Bachao beti padhao’ campaign.

A pledge was also taken on” Beti Bachao Beti Padhao” which was read out by Deputy commissioner and the officials of District Administration Cachar. District Social Welfare Officer Rajkumar Kedia, DDC Jessica Lalsim, Additional Deputy Commissioners Rajib Roy, A.R Majumder, Assistant Commissioners Maria Tanim, Kim Changsen were also present during the occasion.
