Cachar DC felicititates health officials for exemplary contributions
Way2barak, November 26 : In a significant move to bolster the district’s healthcare framework, Cachar District Commissioner Mridul Yadav, chaired an extensive review meeting of the District Health Society. The meeting, held on Tuesday in the New Conference Hall of the DC’S office, was convened in presence of senior officials including ADC (H) Dr Khaleda Sultana Ahmed; Branch Officer (H), JDHS, Addl. CM&HO (FW), Superintendent of SM Dev Civil Hospital, and other prominent health authorities.
The deliberations, aimed at assessing and enhancing healthcare delivery, encompassed a wide range of topics crucial for improving public health outcomes. Discussions began with a review of Swasthya Sewa Utsav scores and preparedness, followed by an in-depth analysis of child and maternal mortality rates. Action plans were proposed to address gaps in services and ensure better outcomes in future.
Among the major initiatives discussed were plans for a special Antenatal Care (ANC) drive, aimed at identifying and mitigating risks for expectant mothers, and strategies to uplift health standards in Tea Garden communities. The meeting also reviewed the status of the wage compensation scheme, immunisation drives, and fund utilisation for ongoing health projects. Key focus areas included timely JSY payments, incentives for ASHA workers, and strategies to combat vector-borne diseases.
Discussions on facility upgrades were equally robust, with progress reports on the construction of the Special Newborn Care Unit (SNCU) and the functioning of the District Early Intervention Centre (DEIC) at SM Dev Civil Hospital being presented. Furthermore, the status of accreditation programs such as NQAS and Musqan was evaluated to ensure quality healthcare services across the district.
Later, DC Yadav felicitated three dedicated Health Department officials for their exemplary contributions: the Medical Officer of Jirighat MPHC, and the Community Health Officers (CHOs) of Lathimara-II SC AAM and Dwarbond MSC-AAM. Their commitment to healthcare excellence was lauded as an inspiration for others in the field.
The meeting concluded with a focus on strengthening institutional delivery services at Urban PHC, Digar Fulertol SHC, and Digar Kashipur MPHC, underscoring the administration’s commitment to maternal and child health. This comprehensive review marks a pivotal step in reinforcing Cachar’s healthcare system, aligning with the district’s vision of delivering accessible, efficient, and high-quality health services to all.
