BVVBDF gets 1st position in voluntary blood donation in Assam

১ অক্টোবর গোটা দেশ জুড়ে ‘জাতীয় রক্তদান দিবস’ পালিত হয়। স্বেচ্ছা রক্তদানকে উৎসাহ দিতে বিগত এক বছরের সেরা রক্তদাতা সংগঠন গুলোকে আসাম সরকার ওইদিন কেন্দ্রীয় ভাবে অনুষ্ঠানের মাধ্যমে সম্বর্ধিত ও পুরস্কৃত করে থাকেন। এবার নিয়ে লাগাতার দশ বছর ‘বরাক ভ্যালি ভলান্টারি ব্লাড ডোনার্স ফোরাম’ রাজ্যের শ্রেষ্ঠ রক্তদাতা সংগঠনের মর্যাদা ও পুরস্কার পেয়েছে।

আজ গুয়াহাটিতে এক অনুষ্ঠানে ফোরামের কেন্দ্রীয় সম্পাদক আশু পালকে এই ধারাবাহিক সাফল্যের জন্য সম্বর্ধিত ও ফোরামের অন্য সদস্যদের হাতে মানপত্র ও পুরস্কার তুলে দেন রাজ্য সরকারের স্বাস্থ্য ও পরিবার কল্যাণ বিভাগের যুগ্ম সচিব শ্রীমতী জ্যোৎস্না মেধি পাটগিরি। মঞ্চে উপবিষ্ট রাজ্যের ডেপুটি ড্রাগস কন্ট্রোলার অসীম নাথ এবং বরপেটা মেডিক্যাল কলেজের প্যাথলজি বিভাগের এসোসিয়েট প্রফেসার দীপঙ্কর বরুয়াও ফোরামকে অভিনন্দন জানান।

সম্বর্ধনার জবাবে বক্তব্য রাখতে গিয়ে আশু পাল সবাইকে ধন্যবাদ জানিয়ে এই সম্মান ও পুরস্কার বরাক উপত্যকার সকল রক্তদাতা ও সংগঠকদের উৎসর্গ করেন এবং আগামী দিনেও এই মহান জীবনদায়ী আন্দোলনে বরাকের নেতৃত্বদান অক্ষুন্ন থাকবে বলে আত্মবিশ্বাস ব্যক্ত করেন। তিনি আরও জানান, ফোরামের উদ্যোগে ডিব্রুগড়, কামরূপ, শোণিতপুর, ধুবড়ি, বঙ্গাইগাও এবং চিরাঙ জেলায়ও জেলা কমিটি গঠিত হয়ে রক্তদানের কাজ শুরু হয়েছে। তাছাড়া, তিনসুকিয়া, বিহপুরিয়া, ডিগবয়, হাফলঙ, মঙ্গলদই, নগাঁও এবং বরপেটায় সংগঠন গড়ে তোলার প্রাথমিক কাজ ইতোমধ্যেই সম্পন্ন হয়েছে বলেও জানান তিনি।

রাজ্যে সাধারণ অসমীয়াভাষী মানুষের মধ্যে রক্তদানের প্রয়োজনীয়তা ও উপকারিতার ব্যাপারে সচেতনতা গড়ে তোলার জন্য ফোরামের উদ্যোগে অসমীয়া ভাষায় একটি বই আগামী ২৬ অক্টোবর ডিব্রুগড়ে রাজ্যের স্বাস্থ্যমন্ত্রীকে দিয়ে উন্মোচন করার প্রস্তুতি চলছে বলেও তিনি জানিয়েছেন।

October 1: Blood donation is perhaps one of the major services that can be rendered for the society. When such type of social service is done voluntarily, its importance increases manifold. Such noble gesture definitely doesn’t go unnoticed and the society recognises these efforts at the opportune moment. A similar laurel has been achieved by Barak Valley Voluntary Blood Donors Forum, Silchar. Since its very inception, the members of the forum are working relentlessly to spread awareness among the people regarding the concept of voluntary blood donation.

On the occasion of National Voluntary Blood Donation Day, 2018, Assam State Blood Transfusion Council has awarded first position to Barak Valley Voluntary Blood Donors Forum (BVVBDF) in the category of Voluntary Blood Donation in Assam in the year 2017-18. From a total of 60 camps this year, BVVBDF has collected 1928 units of blood. However, this is nothing new for the Forum. This is the 10th year that BVVBDF has earned the prestigious distinction of securing the 1st position in blood donation in the state.

Speaking during the occasion, Mr. Ashu Paul dedicated this honour to all the blood donors of Barak Valley. He expressed confidence that Barak Valley will continue to give leadership in this noble venture. He also informed that chapters of the Forum were formed at Dibrugarh, Kamrup, Sonitpur, Dhubri, Bongaigaon and Chirang districts.

Mr. Paul said that in order to create awareness about the importance of blood donation among the Assamese speaking people of Assam, the Forum has written a book in Assamese, which will be released by the Health Minister of Assam on 26 October at Dibrugarh.
