ব্যবসায়ীর সাড়ে ৪ লক্ষ ছিনতাই শিলচরেBusinesman looted cash worth 4.5 lakh at Silchar
২৩ নভেম্বর : ফের ছিনতাইয়ের ঘটনা ঘটেছে শিলচর শহরে। ছিনতাইবাজরা স্কুটি দিয়ে এসে ব্যবসায়ী অজয় পালের হাতে থাকা ব্যাগ নিয়ে চম্পট দিয়েছে। দোকান বন্ধ করে ব্যাগে সাড়ে চার লক্ষ টাকা নিয়ে ঘরে ফিরছিলেন ওই ব্যবসায়ী। শুক্রবার রাত সাড়ে ন’টা নাগাদ সদর থানা থেকে মাত্র ২০০ মিটার দূরত্বে ফাটকবাজার কালীবাড়ি সংলগ্ন রাস্তায় ঘটনাটি ঘটে।
একটি সূত্রে জানা গেছে, ফাটক বাজার এলাকার শ্রীকৃষ্ণ ভান্ডারের মালিক অজয় পাল এ দিন রাত সাড়ে ন’টা নাগাদ দোকান বন্ধ করে একটি ব্যাগে সাড়ে চার লক্ষ টাকা নিয়ে ঘরে ফিরছিলেন। তিনি যখন তার সঙ্গী অপর এক ব্যবসায়ীর বাইকে ব্যাগ নিয়ে উঠতে যাবেন, তখনই দুই যুবক একটি স্কুটিতে চেপে আসে। ব্যাগটি এক টানে ছিনতাই করে খুব দ্রুতগতিতে স্কুটি চালিয়ে গা ঢাকা দেয়। অজয় বাবু চিৎকার করলে আশপাশের মানুষ জড়ো হন। কিন্তু দুই ছিনতাইকারীর কোনও হদিশ পাওয়া যায়নি।
এ দিকে, শিলচর শহরে এভাবে ঘন ঘন ছিনতাইয়ের ঘটনায় উদ্বেগ প্রকাশ করেছেন শিলচর ফুডগ্রেনস মার্চেন্ট অ্যাসোসিয়েশনের সাধারণ সম্পাদক প্রণব পালচৌধুরী। তিনি বলেন, ইদানিং শহরে যেভাবে ছিনতাইয়ের ঘটনা ঘটছে, তাতে একে ছিনতাই নগরী বললেও অত্যুক্তি হবে না। কারণ গত কিছুদিনে প্রায় ১৫টি ছিনতাইয়ের ঘটনার কথা তিনি উল্লেখ করেন। বলেন, বুধমল বৈদের ১০ লক্ষ টাকা চুরি হয়েছে। আরও এক ব্যক্তি সাড়ে তিন লক্ষ টাকা খুইয়েছেন। কিন্তু এ পর্যন্ত একজন ছিনতাইবাজও ধরা পড়েনি। প্রণব বাবু বলেন, এই ঘটনাটি নিয়ে তিনি নিজে জেলাশাসক, পুলিশ সুপার, এমনকি বিধায়ক দিলীপ কুমার পালের সঙ্গে কথা বলেছেন। পুলিশ সুপার ছিনতাইবাজকে গ্রেফতারের আশ্বাস দিয়েছেন।
As per a source, Dibyojyoti (Ajay) Paul is the owner of Sri Krishna Bhandar at Silchar Fatak Bazar and deals in jaggery. On Friday night, he closed his shop at around 9.30 and started for his home with a bag in his hand which contained cash worth 4.5 lakh. Ajay Paul was just about to sit on the bike of one of his fellow businessman, when all of a sudden two boys came riding on a scooty. Before Ajay Paul could understand anything, one of them snatched away the bag from his hand and fled away in the twinkling of an eye. At once Ajoy Paul raised a hue and cry. People rushed near him but by that time the duo vanished from their in their scooty.Meanwhile, General Secretary of Food grains Merchant Association Pranab Paul Choudhury has expressed concern about rising crimes in the town. Speaking to way2barak, Mr. Paul Choudhury said that the town is no longer a land of peace. Silchar should rather be renamed as a land of snatchers. He cited no less than 15 such instances of snatching in the last few days. He mentioned that noted businessman Budhmal Baid’s 10 lakh rupees was stolen. Similarly, another man close to him was robbed of around 3.5 lakh cash. He lamented on the fact that police has still now not been able to arrest any of the culprits. While speaking to our correspondent, Mr. Paul Choudhury said that he has personally taken up this matter with the Deputy Commissioner, Police Super and MLA of Silchar. Police Super has assured him to nab the miscreants very soon.
