December 23: With Congress-JMM-RJD alliance all set to form government in Jharkhand, Silchar District Congress too seemed to be in celebration mood. On Monday afternoon, with trends showing a victory for the grand alliance was enough for Congress to immerse in celebrations.

Congress leaders and party workers at Silchar were seen bursting crackers and distributing sweets as trends for the Jharkhand assembly elections showed the Congress-JMM alliance ahead of the ruling BJP. Party supporters were waving the party flag.

Speaking to newsmen, Sanjeev Roy, Secretary of Assam Pradesh Congress Committee said, “Dented in Haryana, Denied in Maharashtra, Defeated in Jharkhand. That is the story of the BJP in 2019. The BJP have lost three states. The BJP is not unbeatable if all opposition parties come together and they will be defeated in future elections. People have voted for change.”
