Budget 2019: New series of ₹ 1,2,5,10 & 20 coins be released soon

July 5: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on March 7 had unveiled new series of coins of one rupee, two rupees, five rupees, ten rupees and twenty rupees, easily identifiable to the visually impaired. “These new coins will be made available for public use shortly,” Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said in the Union Budget 2019-20 presented in Parliament.

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said, “A new series of coins of Re 1, Rs 2, Rs 5, Rs 10, Rs 20 easily identifiable to the visually impaired were released by the PM on 7th March 2019. These coins will be made available for public use shortly.”

All the new coins will have the Ashoka Pillar with ‘Satyameva Jayate’ inscribed below, flanked by the words “‘Bharat” and “India”.
