Blast by suspected Mizo miscreants damages a mosque in Hailakandi

২৪ মেঃ বোমা বিস্ফোরণ ঘটল হাইলাকান্দি জেলার কচুরতল মসজিদে। তাতে মসজিদের একাংশ ক্ষতিগ্রস্ত হয়। তবে রাতে মসজিদে কেউ থাকেন না বলে হতাহতের খবর নেই।

পুলিশের অনুমান, এর পেছনে রাজনীতি বা ধর্মের সম্পর্ক নেই। বিজেপির ব্যাপক সাফল্যের রাতে এই বিস্ফোরণ ঘটিয়ে মিজো দুষ্কৃতীরা নিজেদের কাজ হাসিল করতে চেয়েছে। এলাকার মুসলমানরা সেই ফাঁদে পা দেননি। জোর আওয়াজ তোলেন, জমি জবরদখলের উদ্দেশ্যে মিজো দুষ্কৃতীরাই এই কাজ করেছে।

খবর পেয়ে জেলাশাসক কীর্তি জল্লি ও পুলিশ সুপার মহনীশ মিশ্র ঘটনাস্থলে যান। কথা বলেন মিজোরামের অফিসারদের সঙ্গে। পরে ভৈরবী সার্কিট হাউসে গিয়ে দ্বিপাক্ষিক বৈঠকে মিলিত হন। পুলিশ সুপার জানিয়েছেন, রামনাথপুর থানায় বিস্ফোরণ নিয়ে মামলা করা হয়েছে। তদন্ত শুরু হয়েছে। দুষ্কৃতীদের খুঁজে বের করে শাস্তির ব্যবস্থা করা হবে। কী ধরনের বিস্ফোরক ব্যবহার করা হয়েছে, তাও তদন্ত করে দেখা হবে।

May 24: Within a fortnight of communal tension, the district of Hailakandi district is once again in the news. Just a day after BJP’s landslide victory, tension mounted in a remote place of Hailakandi district of Assam. A mosque, located at Kachurtal near the inter-state boundary with Mizoram, was partially damaged in an explosion that occurred at  around 2.15 PM on Friday.

Hailakandi Superintendent of Police Mohneesh Mishra immediately rushed a police team to the spot. Later on in the day, the Police Super along with Keerthi Jalli, Deputy Commissioner of Hailakandi visited the spot. The Deputy Commissioner also met her counterpart of Kolasib in Mizoram and agreed to tighten security measures along the borders.

A case in this regard was filed in Ramnathpur police station. Meanwhile, angered by the blast, local people blocked the highway for some time.

Later on being assured by the DC, SP and Sujam Uddin, MLA of Katlicherra of apprehending the miscreants, the blockade was withdrawn. People of the locality urged upon the district administration to give financial aid for reconstructing the mosque damaged in the blast.

Investigation into this matter by the police is on. However, as per police sources, no casualty has been reported so far. Police are suspecting the involvement of some Mizo miscreants in the blast. The district administration has appealed to all to maintain peace and tranquility.
