Bishnu Kar went missing during Manasha immersion

মনসা প্রতিমা বিসর্জনে গিয়ে সন্ধানহীন সাংস্কৃতিক কর্মী বিশ্বজিত কর (বিষ্ণু)। সদরঘাটে পা পিছলে তিনি বরাক নদীতে পড়ে যান। সঙ্গে সঙ্গে খোঁজাখুজি শুরু হলেও পাওয়া যায়নি তাঁকে। পরে এসডিআরএফ গিয়েও কিছু সময় তাঁর সন্ধান চালায়। কিন্তু ৫০ বছর বয়সী বিষ্ণুবাবুর খোঁজ মেলেনি। এসডিআরএফ জানিয়েছে, সন্ধ্যা হয়ে যাওয়ায় তাঁরা বেশি সময় কাজ করতে পারেননি। কাল সকালে ফের তারা বরাকে নামবেন।
বিষ্ণুবাবু ছিলেন ইয়াসিন আলি চৌধুরী স্কুলের শিক্ষক। তাঁর নিখোঁজ হওয়ার সংবাদে শিলচর শহরের সাংস্কৃতিক মহল হতবাক।

In a shocking incident, cultural activist Biswajit Kar (Bishnu) went missing during the immersion of the idol of goddess Manasha in river Barak at Sadarghat on Saturday at around 5 PM. He slipped from the guard wall and fell into the river. Search operation was launched at once, but he could not be traced. Later on SDRF also joined search operation for few hours. However, due to onset of dusk, they could not continue the search operation. However, SDRF will restart their operation on Sunday morning.

The 50 year aged Bishnu Kar is a teacher at Eyasin Ali Choudhury School. He is a resident of Ambicapatty, Silchar. A true gentleman by nature, he is loved and respected by all. He was an active member of Rupam Cultural Association and Samakal. His missing news has cast a spell of sorrow in the cultural arena of Silchar.
