Bharatiya Kalyan Manch distributes saree at Silchar Railway Station

September 29: The festival of Durga Puja is celebrated with fervor in over here at Silchar, but it’s celebration with due fervor is a distant dream for the poor and underprivileged. Celebrating the festival with new clothes is a tradition but such celebrations is impossible for the poorest of the poor who live with no income or or roof above their head. Taking these factors into consideration, Bharatiya Kalyan Manch distributed sarees among the destitute at Silchar Railway Station.

On Sunday evening, 3 members of the Bharatiya Kalyan Manch- Sandipan Dutta Purkayastha, Santanu Sutradhar and Rohit Chanda went to Silchar Railway Station and distributed sarees among the poorest of the poor. It was their own humble way to make the world a better place to live in.

Infact, the members of Bharatiya Kalyan Manch were reluctant to make any publicity of this act. They did not inform any media house that they were going to distribute saree. However, our correspondent who was present in the Railway platform at that moment saw them doing this act of kindness. On persuading, they said that it was their wish to be happy by making others happy.

Later on speaking to way2barak, Sandipan Dutta Purkayastha said, “During Durga Puja, it is customary for us to wear new clothes. But when we thought that there are many people who are destitute and are not able to manage even proper food for them. So we decided to make atleast some people smile. It is in this backdrop that we distributed sarees among the poor. We hope that more organisations should come forward and contribute to make the deprived section of the society feel that they are also a part of this cosmos.”
