Being excluded from NRC, man from Dibrugarh lodges FIR against Prateek Hajela
September 4: Chandan Mazumder, a resident of Dibrugarh failed to find a place in the final National register of Citizens (NRC) published on 31 August, 2019. Mazunder claiming himself to be a bonfide citizen of India lodged a FIR against NRC State Coordinator Prateek Hajela on Wednesday.
In the FIR lodged at Dibrugarh Police Station on Wednesday, Chandan Mazumder stated that his parents are residing in Dibrugarh since 1947. However, he mentioned that even after applying with all requisite documents, including his family’s 1951 NRC, he was excluded from the final NRC.
He categorically stated that his name has not been included and it is “done with a criminal conspiracy by Sri Prateek Hajela, IAS, State Coordinator, NRC, Assam and his NSK team disobeying law with intent to cause injury by framing an incorrect document.” In this connection, a case has been registered at the Dibrugarh Police Station under sections 120(B), 166/167 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
