Barak Valley Welfare Development Society distribute relief among 200 families

April 15: Barak Valley Welfare Development Society (NGO) on the occasion of Pohela Boishakh & Rongali Bihu distributed relief materials comprising of rice, dal, soyabean, potato, mustard oil and soap among 200 families of daily wage earners.

The essential commodities were distributed in the premises of Ujjawala office at Panchayat Road, Silchar. The entire distribution programme was carried on by maintaining social distancing among beneficiaries. The Barak Valley Welfare Development Society was cooperated by the Rising Youth Society, Silchar in the distribution of the relief materials.

Apart from distribution of aid, awareness on COVID-19 was also undertaken. Puja Das and Pinak Roy demonstrated how to wash hands frequently & to wear mask or use clothes to keep the mouth and nose covered.

Expressing his views, Executive Director of Barak Valley Welfare Development Society, Gaurav Chanda thanked all well-wishers donors,members of the NGO, Cachar Police, District Health Society, Cachar Excise Department & media partners for their support.
