Baharul Islam Laskar, Asstt. Professor of R.K. Nagar College passes away

July 10: Baharul Islam Laskar (45), Assistant Professor in the Department of Political Science of Ramkrishna Nagar College in Hailakandi district breathed his last on Wednesday at around 1:30 pm at NEIGRIHMS, Shillong. On 5 July, he had a massive cardiac attack following which, he was admitted at Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH). But the doctors at SMCH referred him to Guwahati for better treatment.

However, on the way to Guwahati, his condition became critical and was admitted at NEIGRIHMS, Shillong. There the doctors extended their maximum efforts for his recovery, but ultimately he passed away on 10 July. Baharul Islam Laskar is survived by his wife and two little children. wife, relatives and many well washers and friends.His death was mourned by his kith and kin. His untimely demise has brought in a atmosphere of gloom among the people of Lala as he was very popular there.

Baharul Laskar with ACTA Zonal Committee

Baharul Islam Laskar was a man of high moral values. He was also the Vice President of ACTA Karimganj-Hailakandi Zone. Apart from teaching, he was also associated with various social activities. Teachers from different colleges of Barak Valley has expressed their condolences for the sudden demise of Baharul Islam Laskar. Expressing his reaction, Himangshu Maral, General Secretary of ACTA central committee wrote, “Really a heart-breaking news! May his soul rest in eternal peace.” Rajat Subhra Paul, Central Executive Committee Member of ACTA Karimganj-Hailakandi Zone also expressed deep sorrow at the sudden demise of Baharul Islam Laskar. Former President of ACTA Cachar Zone Sudarshan Gupta too said, “We are indeed very shocked to get this news. His untimely demise is indeed a great loss for the institution he worked and for ACTA also.”
