Awful insensitivity: Chhattisgarh BJP ministers joke, laugh at Vajpayee’s ashes Immersion ceremony

In an incident of appalling insensitivity, Chhattisgarh ministers were seen joking and laughing on stage at a ceremony held to immerse late Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s ashes. Vajpayee’s ashes will be immersed in rivers across the country, with top leaders participating in a ritual that has been dubbed ‘Atal Kalash Yatra’ by the ruling BJP. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP president Amit Shah handed over urns wrapped in red cloth containing Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s ashes to state party chiefs at an event organized earlier.

There were a couple of ministers from Chattisgarh during the ceremony on Wednesday. Health Minister Ajay Chandrakar and Agriculture Minister Brijmohan Agarwal were caught on camera laughing loudly, hence trivialising the entire ceremony. That is definitely very insensitive behavior on their part and was criticized by people across the spectrum.
