২৩ অক্টোবর : প্রাকৃতিক দুর্যোগ মোকাবিলায় চটজলদি কী পদক্ষেপ নেব আমরা? হঠাৎ করে আগুন লাগলেই বা কী করতে হবে? হাতে কলমে তা-ই দেখিয়ে দিল ফায়ার অ্যান্ড ইমারজেন্সি সার্ভিস। মঙ্গলবার শিলচরের গ্রিন হিলস হাসপাতালে এই মকড্রিলের ব্যবস্থাপনায় ছিল হাসপাতাল কর্তৃপক্ষই।

মকড্রিলে ফায়ার অ্যান্ড ইমারজেন্সি সার্ভিসের গুয়াহাটি ও শিলচর কার্যালয় যৌথভাবে উপস্থিত জনগণকে সবকিছু বুঝিয়ে দিয়েছে। ভূ-কম্প হলে জরুরি ভিত্তিতে কীভাবে ব্যবস্থা নেওয়া যেতে পারে, তাও খোলাসা করে দেখায় বিভাগ। কেউ যদি হঠাৎ করে অসুস্থ হয়ে পড়েন, স্ট্রেচার ছাড়াই তাকে কীভাবে নেওয়া যাবে, বা আগুন কীভাবে গাছের পাতা, বালি ও কম্বল ভিজিয়ে নেভানো সম্ভব ইত্যাদি। বিদ্যুতের আগুন হলে ফগ মেশিন দিয়ে আগুন নেভানোর পদ্ধতিও তারা দেখিয়ে দেন।

বিভাগের উদ্যোগে এ ধরনের মকড্রিল স্কুল কলেজেও আয়োজন করা হবে বলে তারা জানান। এদিকে, এই মকড্রিলে বিভাগের গুয়াহাটি শাখা থেকে এসেছেন স্টেশন ফায়ারম্যান আবু তালহা, ফায়ারম্যান রঞ্জিত বরা ও মনোজ দাস, শিলচর শাখার স্টেশন ফায়ারম্যান বিদ্যাসিং বে, লিডিং ফায়ারম্যান পার্থ ভট্টাচার্য, লাংটিং তিনুং প্রমুখ। গ্রিন হিলস হাসপাতালের পক্ষে চেয়ারম্যান দেবেন দাস, প্রশাসনিক দায়িত্বপ্রাপ্ত পিনাক চক্রবর্তী, সুপারিন্টেন্ডেন্ট ডাঃ রতন দাস প্রমুখ।

October 23: In case of any natural disaster what steps should we take? What should one do in case of a sudden break out of fire? All these were practically demonstrated by Fire and Emergency Service. On Tuesday, such a mock drill session was organized by the Green Heals Hospital authority.

The staff of Fire and Emergency Service of both Guwahati and Kolkata centres took part in this mock drill. They demonstrated the various dos and don’ts during earthquake. They showed how to carry a person without a stretcher, if he/she falls ill all of a sudden. Demonstration was also given how to extinguish fire with the help of sand and other materials. They also showed how to use fog machine in case of fire caused due to short circuit of electricity.

From the Guwahati branch of Fire and Emergency Service, Firemen Abu Talah, Ranjit Bora and Manoj Das attended the campaign. Whereas, from Silchar branch, it was attended by Firemen Bidyasagar, Partha Bhattacharjee, Langting Tinung and others. On behalf of Green Heals Hospital its Chairman Deben Das, Administrative Officer Pinak chakraborty, Superintendent Dr. Ratan das and others were present.
