Assam’s pride Hima Das wins 2nd gold in a week in Poland
July 8: Assam’s golden girl, sprinter Hima Das won her second international gold in women’s 200 m at the Kutno Athletics Meet in Poland on Sunday. This was Hima’s second 200m competitive race in 2019. Her personal best is 23.10s which she clocked last year.
Inspite of struggling with a back problem for the past few months finished at the top clocking 23.97 seconds to clinch the gold while V K Vismaya bagged the silver in 24.06 seconds. In her first competitive 200m race of the year, Hima Das, popularly known as ‘Dhing Express’ clocked 23.65 seconds on her way to gold in the Poznan Athletics Grand Prix, also in Poland on July 4th, 2019.
