Assam University suspends all classes until further order

March 15: The spread of Coronavirus in the country has led both the Union and the State governments to take preventive measures. Meanwhile, the Assam government has notified that all government and private educational institutions in the state shall remain closed from 16 March to 29 March, 2020.

In this connection, the Registrar in-charge of Assam University has issued a message wherein he stated, “In view of spread of Coronavirus and advisory from various levels of Government, Assam University hereby suspends all classes until further order. Further details will be notified in the University website on 16.03.2020. All concerned are advised to follow the University website accordingly. Exams and class seminars scheduled on 16th March 2020 shall however take place accordingly.”

Further, the Pro Vice Chancellor of Assam University, Diphu Campus has also issued a message wherein he stated, “In the wake of high alert for Corona, all activities involving mass gathering are to be postponed in the Diphu Campus immediately. Classes would remain suspended from 16 to 29 March 2020. Study materials are to be supplied to students via email. The on going Students Varsity Week is postponed from 16.03.2020. Faculty members are requested to be ready for any emergency like continuing classes and conducting exams during Summer Vacation. It is advised not to plan travel on LTC under extraordinary pandemic conditions. Further updates would be communicated.”
