Assam University celebrates World Theatre Day

March 29: The Department of performing Arts, Assam University organised a national workshop on Theatre in Education and community Theatre in collaboration with NSD TIE wing Tripura from 25 March to 27 March 2019 on the occasion of World Theatre Day.

Students were wholeheartedly involved with the workshop. They were part and parcel of unlimited fun, exploring themselves, character building, addressing social problems, working together, stimulating creativity, coordination with others, presenting themselves on stage, energise them and thereby enhanced their basic skills through this workshop.

The World Theatre Day celebration saw its culmination with invited performance of Bhabikal Theatre, Silchar followed by the workshop demonstration. Piklu Ghosh and Rajesh Borah were the workshop facilitators. Murali Basa was the convenor for the workshop and World Theatre Day.

The Department of performing Arts on the same day celebrated Basant Utsav 2019. Students performed songs and dance on the occasion. Dr. Sujit Kr Ghosh was the Coordinator of Basant Utsav program. The University fraternity involved themselves with this colourful festivity.
