আসাম বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ে অসম সাহিত্য সভার অবদান নেই, বললেন প্রদীপ
Assam Sahitya Sabha did not play any role in establishing Assam University: Pradip Dutta Roy

২১ জানুয়ারি : আসাম বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় প্রতিষ্ঠার ক্ষেত্রে অসম সাহিত্য সভার কোনও অবদান ছিল না বলে সাফ জানালেন আকসার প্রতিষ্ঠাতা সভাপতি প্রদীপ দত্তরায়। আসাম বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের প্রতিষ্ঠা দিবস পালনের দু’দিন আগে অসম সাহিত্য সভার বর্তমান সভাপতি পরমানন্দ রাজবংশী শিলচরে এসে যে মন্তব্য করেছেন, তা কার্যত উড়িয়ে দিয়ে এক সময়ের আকসা নেতা বলেন, বরাকে বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় স্থাপনে অসম সাহিত্য সভার কোনও অবদান ছিল না। বরং আসুর সঙ্গে মিলে অসম সাহিত্য সভাও এর চরম বিরোধিতা করেছিল। উল্লেখ্য, পরমানন্দ রাজবংশী দাবি করেন, বরাকে আসাম বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় স্থাপন করতে অসম সাহিত্য সভারও অবদান রয়েছে।

প্রদীপ দত্তরায় এ দিন তাঁকে ঠুকে বলেছেন, রাজবংশী অসম সাহিত্য সভার সভাপতি হয়েও ইতিহাস জানেন না। তাঁর এ ধরনের মন্তব্য দুঃখজনক। অন্যদিকে, প্রদীপবাবু অখিল গগৈ ও হীরেন গোহাইকে বরাকে এসে বাঙালি বুদ্ধিজীবীদের সঙ্গে কথা বলার অনুরোধ জানিয়েছেন। কারণ বরাকে ১ কোটি বাঙালি হিন্দু রয়েছেন বলে তারা যে মন্তব্য করছেন, তা মোটেই গ্রহণযোগ্য নয়। তাছাড়া বাংলাদেশে হিন্দুদের নিরাপত্তা সংশয়ে রয়েছে বলেও বক্তব্যটি উড়িয়ে দিয়েছেন প্রদীপবাবু।

January 21: Founder President of All Cachar Karimganj Hailakandi Students Association (ACKHSA) Pradip Dutta Roy on Sunday denied the role of Assam Sahitya Sabha in playing any role in setting up of Assam University at Silchar. It needs mention here that Assam Sahitya Sabha’s President, Dr Paramananda Rajbongshi, who during his visit to Silchar on Shilpi Diwas commented of playing a pivotal role in setting up of Assam University.

Talking to newsmen, Pradip Dutta Roy regarded the statement of Dr Rajbongshi as baseless and candidly expressed the view that the Assam Sahitya Sabha rather opposed vehemently the proposal of establishing Assam University. Mr. Dutta Roy said, “Only after Tezpur University was set up, the permission for setting up of Assam University, at Silchar, was agreed upon by the Centre.”

Pradip Dutta Roy also referred to a recent comment of Dr Rajbongshi where he allegedly said that the indigenous people of Barak valley comprises of  Manipuris, Rajbongshis, Khasis and Dimasas, without making any reference to Bengali Hindus or Muslims. Mr. Dutta Roy said that Dr Rajbongshi has made a grave mistake by not referring to these communities. Even being the president of Asom Sahitya Sabha, he lacks knowledge of this region.
