Assam NSUI Vice President arrested for alleged ‘vandalism’ during anti-CAA protest

January 31: After Assam’s Youth Congress President Kamrul Islam Choudhury has been arrested on charges of alleged vandalism during the protests opposing the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) which erupted across Guwahati, it’s now the turn of state NSUI Vice President.

Assam NSUI Vice President Zubair Anam was arrested by Dispur Police on Friday from Rajiv Bhawan. Zubin was arrested while he was addressing a press meet at Rajiv Bhawan. As per reports, Zubair Anam was allegedly involved in the Srimanta Sankardev Kalakshetra vandalism incident during the anti-CAA protest in December 2019. On this basis of this alleged involvement of Zubair, a case was registered in Dispur Police Station.
