Assam – Meghalaya reaches 98% agreement on six areas of difference: CM Meghalaya
Jan. 27: Several round of talks were held between the Assam and Meghalaya government to resolve the border row between the two states. Chief Ministers Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma and Conrad Sangma even met the Union Home Minister Amit Shah recently to resolve the crisis. On Thursday, Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma stated that both the states have come to 98 percent agreement on the 6 areas of differences. He was positive in the matter that during the next meeting of the two Chief Ministers a final understanding will be reached on the border issue.
“Meeting was held to iron out a few issues in our border talks with our Assam counterpart. We have come to 98% agreement on the 6 areas of differences & we look forward to reach our final understanding in our next sitting before our joint meeting with Hon’ble HM, Sh @AmitShah Ji.”
