Assam govt to go for 1 lakh rapid COVID-19 test
April 11: As of now, a total of 2736 COVID-19 tests were conducted in Assam. However, now the state government has decided to go for around 1 lakh rapid test. The ICMR has approved kits of five firms. Assam government has already placed the orders and the testing kits will reach the state around 22 April. Meanwhile, the state has also asked the central government for kits with which testing can begin. This was informed by state Health Minister Dr. himanta Biswa Sarma during a media briefing on Friday.
In Assam, 29 persons were tested COVID-19 positive. The first death was reported from Hailakandi district on Friday.
