Assam Govt launches 24×7 helpline to assist cyber fraud victims

Cyber Forensic Lab cum Training Centre set up for Cyber Crime Prevention against Women and Children

June 28: Cyber crime is a global threat. In a strong step against the menace, Assam Government has launched a 24X7 helpline no 155260. Cyber fraud victims may immediately call this number to block further transfer of the lost money and retrieve it.

Crime up 3.6% in India; Bengaluru tops in cyber crimes | Deccan HeraldInforming this, Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma stated,  “As part of our endeavour, ‘Cyber crime first responder kits’ were also distributed among police officers by DGP of Assam Police. 245 such portable kits procured at Rs 33.16 crore under MOITRI will be will be used by Investigating Officers at the crime scenes.”

A Cyber Forensic Lab cum Training Centre set up at CID HQ as part of Cyber Crime Prevention against Women and Children (CCWC) scheme was also opened today. The lab with state-of-the-art facilities will boost our fight against cyber crime.
