Assam CM Sonowal ceremonially releases New Land Policy 2019

November 21: The New Land Policy 2019 approved by the Cabinet on 21 October, 2019 was ceremonially released on Thursday by the Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal. The land policy was prepared by the Revenue and Disaster Management Department after 30 long years. It was last prepared in 1989.

Addressing the august gathering at his conference hall at Janata Bhavan, Dispur, Chief Minister Sonowal said that the state government has been putting a lot of emphasis in preparing the Land Policy to safeguard the interest of the indigenous people and the Policy would remove complications regarding land allotments and settlements.

The Chief Minister also released the Hand Book of Circulars, Volume-V containing the government circulars, office memorandum issued by the revenue and disaster management department from 1 May, 2007 to 30 August, 2019.

Present during the meeting were Minister of State of Revenue and Disaster Management Bhabesh Kalita, Legal Adviser to the Chief Minister Shantanu Bharali, Additional Chief Secretary of the Revenue and Disaster Management Department Kumar Sanjay Krishna among others.
