Assam announces its team for 58th National Chess Championship, 2022

Feb. 21: Assam announced its Chess team is announced for MPL 58th National Chess Championship, 2022 to be held at Kanpur in Uttar Pradesh from 25 February.

The team shall comprise of International Master Shahil Dey, (Guwahati), Santanu Borpatra Gohain (Sivasagar) Rakesh Chakravorty(Jorhat), Imtiaz Islam Bora, (Tinisukia) and Rahul Soram Singh (Cachar). The team is sponsored by Sushanta Biswa Sarmah, SP Darrang. Rajib Dhar, Secretary and Kandarpa Kalita President, All Assam Chess Association expressed its gratitude towards Sushanta Biswa Sarmah for sponsoring the team. They also expressed best wishes for the team. The team will depart from Guwahati on 23 February.
