৪ নভেম্বরঃ হরিনগরে গণরোষে মৃত জঙ্গিদের একজনকে শনাক্ত করল তার পরিবার। সোশ্যাল মিডিয়ায় তার ছবি দেখে রবিবার পরিবারের লোকজন শিলচর মেডিক্যাল কলেজ হাসপাতালে ছুটে যান। মর্গে গিয়ে দেখেন, সে-ই তো তাদের পরিবারের চাগিংচুই রইমাই। বয়স ৫০ বছর। তাঁরা অবশ্য তার জঙ্গিযোগের কথা অস্বীকার করেছেন। বলেন, চাগিংচুই বড় নিরীহ মানুষ। তার সঙ্গীকে তাঁরা চিনতে পারেননি।

পুলিশ সুপার রাকেশ রৌশন জানান, বিভিন্ন সূত্রে তাঁরা নিশ্চিত, দুইজনই জেলিয়াংরং ইউনাইটেড ফ্রন্ট (জেডইউএফ)-এর ক্যাডার। আরও কেউ সঙ্গে ছিল কি না, তা জানতে বৃহত্তর এলাকা জুড়ে চিরুনি তল্লাশি চলছে।

এ দিকে, রাজ্যের বন, মতস্য ও আবগারি মন্ত্রী পরিমল শুক্লবৈদ্য বলেন, এই ঘটনায় স্পষ্ট হয়ে গিয়েছে, এই অঞ্চলেও অস্ত্র ঢুকছে। বিষয়টি বড় উদ্বেগের। তাঁর কথায়, বেআইনি অস্ত্র মজুত সম্ভব হয়েছিল বলেই তিনসুকিয়ার ঘটনা সম্ভব হয়েছে। তাই বরাকে এই ব্যাপারটি নিয়ে গুরুত্বের সঙ্গে ভেবে দেখা দরকার।

4 November: One militant, out of the two who died being beaten up by the mob at Harinagar was identified by his family. His family members rushed to Silchar Medical College & Hospital on Sunday, after they saw his photograph in social media. When they went inside the morgue, they broke down in tears to identify Chagingchui Raimai (50) to be their family member. They, however, denied his involvement with any militant group. They rather told that Chagingchui  was by nature a soft spoken person and peace loving person. They ofcourse could not identify the other person who was also killed along with him.

In this regard, Police Super Rakesh Roushan has informed that on the basis of the information they have gathered from various sources, they are certain that the two militants were cadres of Jaliangrong United Front (JUF). Police are conducting comb operation at Harinagar and its surroundings to find out if there were any other accomplishes of the two dead militants.

Meanwhile, State Minister, Parimal Suklabaidya has expressed concern and said that the incident which occurred at Harinagar on Saturday proves that arms are being smuggled into this region. He said that the incident of brutal killing of the 5 Bengalis at Tinsukia became possible only because of the presence of illegal arms. As such, he urged upon the police to look into this matter quite seriously.
