গোলদিঘির বাথরুমে যুবকের মৃতদেহ
Another dead body found at Goldighi Mall

৭ জানুয়ারি : রবিবার দুপুরে শিলচর তারাপুর ইন্ডিয়া ক্লাবের সামনে রাস্তা থেকে একটি মৃতদেহ উদ্ধারের পর এ দিন রাতেই গোলদিঘি মল থেকে আরও একটি মৃতদেহ উদ্ধার হয়েছে। পুলিশ মৃতদেহটি উদ্ধার করে নিয়ে গেলেও এটি কার মৃতদেহ তা এখনও শনাক্ত করতে পারেনি। এ ঘটনায় জনমনে চাঞ্চল্য দেখা দিয়েছে।

গোলদিঘি মল কর্তৃপক্ষ সূত্রে জানা গেছে, রাত দশটা নাগাদ মল বন্ধ করার সময় নিরাপত্তা কর্মীরা অন্যদিনের মতোই সবকিছু খতিয়ে দেখছিলেন। তখনই তিনতলায় একটি বাথরুম ভেতর থেকে বন্ধ নজরে পড়ে। অনেক ডাকাডাকি করে কোনও সাড়াশব্দ না পেয়ে মলের সুরক্ষা কর্মীরা দরজা ভেঙে ভেতরে ঢোকেন। তখনই বাথরুমের মেঝেতে এক যুবকের মৃতদেহ পড়ে থাকতে তাঁদের নজরে আসে। সঙ্গে সঙ্গে পুলিশকে খবর দেওয়া হয়। পুলিশ এসে মৃতদেহটি উদ্ধার করে নিয়ে যায়। সন্দেহ করা হচ্ছে, ড্রাগস বা অন্য কোনও নেশাজাতীয় দ্রব্য অতিরিক্ত সেবন করার ফলেই যুবকের মৃত্যু হয়েছে। মৃত ব্যক্তির পরিচয় জানা যায়নি। আগামী ৭২ ঘণ্টা এটি শিলচর মেডিক্যাল কলেজের মর্গে রাখা হবে।

প্রসঙ্গত, গত মাসেও গোলদীঘি মলে এক যুবকের রহস্যজনক মৃত্যু হয়। মৃতদেহের পাশেই পড়েছিল একটি ব্যবহৃত সিরিঞ্জ। এ ছাড়াও, মাস দুয়েকের মধ্যে শিলচর শহর ও শহরতলীতে বেশ কটি সন্দেহভাজন নেশাসক্ত যুবকের দেহ উদ্ধার হয়েছে। তাতে সাধারণ মানুষ উদ্বেগে।

January 7: After a dead body was recovered in the street near India Club on Sunday morning, another dead body was found on Sunday night in the Goldighi Mall. Though police has taken the dead body yet the deceased could not be identified till now. This has resulted in a tensed atmosphere among the business community of Goldighi Mall.

Sources in the Goldighi Mall revealed that while routine checking of the Mall by private security staff during closure at night, they discovered that the door of a toilet in the 2nd floor was closed from inside. They knocked the door but in vain. Finally, after waiting for around 10 minutes the security staff broke open the door to find the dead body of a young boy on the floor. They immediately informed the police who reached there and took the dead body. Police has expressed the view that in all probability the youth died due to overdose of drugs. However, investigation is on and they are examining all angles. The dead body will be kept in the morgue for 72 hours as per norms.

It also needs mention here that another dead body was recovered from the Goldighi Mall last month. People has expressed great concern. This has led to an atmosphere of panic among the business fraternity of the mall. People are doubting whether the mall has become a centre of drug abuse.
