করিমগঞ্জে এফএম বেতার কেন্দ্রের যাত্রা শুরু
All India Radio launches FM station at Karimganj

২৬ নভেম্বর : করিমগঞ্জবাসীর দীর্ঘদিনের স্বপ্ন অবশেষে সত্যি হলো। সোমবার যাত্রা শুরু করল আকাশবাণী করিমগঞ্জ ফ্রিকুয়েন্সি মডিউল অর্থাৎ এফএম কেন্দ্রটি। ফিতে কেটে এই কেন্দ্রের উদ্বোধন করেন করিমগঞ্জের জেলাশাসক প্রদীপ কুমার তালুকদার।

এ প্রসঙ্গে জেলাশাসক বলেন, আজ করিমগঞ্জের জন্য একটি ঐতিহাসিক দিন। তিনি বলেন, এই এফএম কেন্দ্রটি চালু হওয়ায় এখন থেকে করিমগঞ্জের মানুষ নিজেদের মোবাইলে আকাশবাণী শিলচর কেন্দ্রের অনুষ্ঠান, আঞ্চলিক সংবাদ সহ কেন্দ্র ও রাজ্য সরকারের উন্নয়নমূলক প্রকল্প সম্পর্কে অবগত হতে পারবেন। জেলাশাসক আরও বলেন, বর্তমানে রেডিও একটি শক্তিশালী মাধ্যম, যা দেশের প্রত্যন্ত এলাকার মানুষের কাছে খুব সহজে পৌঁছে যেতে পারে।

অনুষ্ঠানে বক্তব্য রাখতে গিয়ে আকাশবাণী শিলচর ও দূরদর্শন কেন্দ্রের ইঞ্জিনিয়ারিং বিভাগের উপ নির্দেশক ই সিদ্দাইয়া জানান, আকাশবাণী করিমগঞ্জ কেন্দ্র ৩০ কিলোমিটার ব্যাসার্ধের মধ্যে এফএম পরিষেবা প্রদান করবে। এর ফলে করিমগঞ্জবাসী নিজেদের মোবাইল, গাড়ি এবং কর্মস্থলে বসেও আকাশবাণী শিলচর কেন্দ্রের অনুষ্ঠান শুনতে পারবেন। উপস্থিত ছিলেন আকাশবাণী শিলচর কেন্দ্রের প্রোগ্রাম-প্রধান দিব্যজ্যোতি পুরকায়স্থও।

এ দিকে, এই ধরনের অনুষ্ঠানে বরাক উপত্যকা বঙ্গ সাহিত্য ও সংস্কৃতি সম্মেলন আমন্ত্রণ পায়নি বলে অভিযোগ উঠেছে। প্রশ্ন উঠেছে, লুকিয়ে গেট বন্ধ করে এই ধরনের এক অনুষ্ঠান হয়ে গেল নাকি।  উত্তরীয়র বদলে গামোছা দিয়ে অতিথিদের সংবর্ধনা জানানোরও সমালোচনা শোনা যায়। বঙ্গ সাহিত্যের কেন্দ্রীয় কমিটির সাধারণ সম্পাদক সব্যসাচী রায় বলেন, ২০০৬ সাল থেকে এই বেতারকেন্দ্র স্থাপনের জন্য যুদ্ধ করেছেন তাঁরা। শেষপর্যন্ত বাস্তবায়িত হওয়ায় খুশি তাঁরা। কিন্তু লুকিয়ে উদ্বোধন করার কারণ বোঝা গেল না।

November 26: The prolonged wait of the inhabitants of Karimganj finally came to an end. On Monday, All India Radio Frequency Model, that is, FM Station started its journey at Karimganj. On Monday, Pradip Kumar Taluqdar, Deputy Commissioner of Karimganj inaugurated the FM Station by cutting the ribbon.

While speaking during the occasion, Mr.Taluqdar said that this day will go down in the annals of history. He further said that now the people of Karimganj will be able to listen even in their mobiles the various programme of All India Radio Silchar centre, local and regional news keep themselves updated about multifarious schemes and projects of both the state and the central government. The Deputy Commissioner also upholded the importance of radio as a popular and powerful medium of communication. He added that radio could reach those people who stays even in far off and interior places.

In his speech, E. Siddhaiyan, Deputy Director of the Engineering Section of Silchar Doordarshan Kendra and AIR said that the FM services will be available within a radius of 30 kms at Karimganj. As a result, people of Karimganj can now listen to the programme of AIR Silchar in their mobiles, vehicles and even in their their work places.
