Accident at Silchar National Highway bypass, aged injured, Bolero burnt

২৬ জানুয়ারিঃ শনিবার রাত ৭টা নাগাদ এক দুর্ঘটনাকে ঘিরে উত্তপ্ত হয়ে ওঠে ন্যাশনাল হাইওয়ে বাইপাস এলাকা। অভিযোগ, একটি বোলেরো গাড়ি নিয়ন্ত্রণ হারিয়ে চারজনকে ধাক্কা মারে। পরে গতি বাড়িয়ে পালিয়ে যাওয়ার সময় চেংকুড়ি মোড়ে ফের দুর্ঘটনায় পড়ে। তাতে কমল সিনহা নামে ৭৯ বছরের বৃদ্ধ গুরুতর জখম হন।

স্থানীয় জনতা পিছু ধাওয়া করে বোলেরোটিকে আটকে ফেলে। চালক পালিয়ে প্রাণ বাঁচালেও গাড়িটি জ্বালিয়ে দেওয়া হয়। প্রাক্তন সেনাকর্মী কমলবাবুকে দ্রুত শিলচর মেডিক্যাল কলেজ হাসপাতালে নিয়ে যাওয়া হয়। মাথা সহ তাঁর দেহের বিভিন্ন জায়গায় চোট লেগেছে। তাঁর দুই ছেলে, দুই মেয়ে সহ পরিজনরা সবাই মেডিক্যালে ছুটে গিয়েছেন।

January 26: In an incident of road mishap, tension mounted at Silchar National Highway on Saturday late evening around 7 PM. It was alleged that a Bolero car lost control and hit four persons. Instead of stopping, the car went away from the spot at a very high speed. But in the meanwhile, the car hit another aged person near Bhakatpur point. A man named Kamal Sinha was severely injured in the accident.

Sources revealed that local people chased the car and was successful to stop it near National Highway Patrol Post. Though the driver managed to escape but infuriated set the Bolero on fire. The injured Kamal Sinha, an ex-army man was rushed to Silchar Medical College and Hospital (SMCH). He has sustained injury in his head and other parts of the body. His 2 sons, 2 daughters and other relatives also rushed to (SMCH)
