AABYSF demands 10 assembly seats to be reserved for Hindu Bengalis

March 1: As the Assam Legislative Assembly election is approaching, so before that big political battle, the “All Assam Bengali Youth Students’ Federation” (AABYSF) has voiced demand of reservation of 10 seats for the Hindu Bengalis in the Brahmaputra Valley in the 2021 assembly elections.

Another demand raised by the Bengali Federation is to create a satellite autonomous council for the Hindu Bengalis living in Assam. Further, demand for the reconstitution of the Linguistic Minorities Development Board in the state was also raised. Bhuson Sarkar, General Secretary of “All Assam Bengali Youth Students’ Federation” (AABYSF) raised these demands on behalf of the Federation.
