Popular band ‘Dolchhut’ comes up with 3 music videos to commemorate World Music Day

June 20: Craziness is perhaps one of the major ingredients for achieving something creative, something out of the box achievement, doing something ordinary in a most extraordinary way, something which the world would admire to be a class in itself. There is no dearth of examples in this world when craziness gave rise to some of the best creative achievement. Moreover, when it comes to creative excellence in the field of dance, music, literature, some amount of being crazy, being childlike yields great results. Such a rare and glaring saga of shooting to prominence can be witnessed in the musical journey of Team Dolchhut.

To commemorate the World Music Day, Team Dolchhut has come up with three music videos, which includes two of their own compositions and one rearrangement of a popular folk song from Bangladesh. The songs are available in the official YouTube channel of Dolchhut.

World Music Day is celebrated on June 21 every year to honour the musicians and singers for the gift of music, which gives flight to the imagination and life to everything. Also known as Fête de la Musique, it is celebrated for motivating budding, young and professional musicians to perform. More than 120 countries celebrate World Music Day and organise free public concerts in parks, stadiums and public places. Music lovers organise different musical concerts and events on this special day. However, due to the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic, Dolchhut was unable to organise any musical performances in any auditorium or open space. As such, they took to YouTube to release their music videos.

Interacting with way2barak, the members of Team Dolchhut said, “We love music and want to spread positive vibes in the society through musical performances. However, due to the spread of Covid-19, we are compelled to stay indoors, said a member of Dolchhut. However, after much thought, they decided to release their songs in their YouTube channcel. The 3 songs are really a feast for the ears.

The 1st song, “Andhar Raite” a folk based tune was sung by Suman Das. The lyrics of this song is written by Sanjiban Shikdar, while it music was set by Jaglu Alam. This popular song from Bangladesh was rearranged by Dolchhut in their own characteristic style retaining the original flavour. Those involved in this song are:

The 2nd song, “Aakasher Tara-ra chup chap” is the original composition of Dolchhut. The lyrics & the tune of this song is attributed to Sayan Biswas. It was sung by Biswaraj Bhattacharjee & Supriya Bhattacharjee. This song is basically a journey down the memory lane of the school days. Indeed the lyrics reminds all the days passed in the corridors, classroooms, playground, canteen of school. Those involved in this song are:

It needs mention here that both these two songs were released in YouTube on 20 June, whereas their third new composition will be uploaded in their YouTube channel on 21 June, 2021. Dolchhut informed that the 3rd song will be a chorus sung by the friends in arms for whom music means everything including a healing touch during this pandemic.

Team Dolchhut, a young band of fiery youth performed together for the first time in Shillong long back in 2008.  They too could not understand that this particular day would go down the pages of history as a red letter day in their life. On returning back to Silchar, they started to contemplate to move forward in life with their newly formed team. There were many ups and downs. They had to overcome many a storm in their musical journey. But what appears to be the key to their success is their will force and the ability to do something best. In this way, they have overcome 12 golden years.
