Bollywood star Rajpal Yadav sentenced to jail

November 30: Bollywood actor Rajpal Yadav was sentenced to three months civil prison by Delhi High Court on Friday. Rajpal was sentenced for failing to repay a loan of Rs. Five crore which he and his wife Radhika took in 2010 for his directoral debut ‘Ata Pata Laapata.’ Though the film was release in 2012 but it was a flop.

A civil suit was filed against Yadav’s company Shree Nurang Godavari Entertainment by a Delhi-based company Murli Projects for failing to repay the loan amount of Rs.5 crore which he took for making his film. Justice Rajiv Endlaw on Friday passed a judgement ordering that Rajpal Yadav should be taken into custody and kept in the Tihar Jail for three months.

Rajpal Yadav has featured in several Bollywood films and is regarded as one of the best commedians of Hindi cinema. Rajpal Yadav got married to Radha after the demise of his first wife.
