গরু পাচার মামলায় জামিনে মুক্ত হয়ে বিজেপির প্রার্থী !

২০ নভেম্বরঃ ধলছড়া পঞ্চায়েত এখন করিমগঞ্জ জেলায় চর্চার কেন্দ্রে। এই পঞ্চায়েতেই বসবাস প্রাক্তন মন্ত্রী সিদ্দেক আহমেদের। তবে চর্চা এখন তাঁকে ঘিরে নয়। বিজেপি সহিদ-উজ জামান ওরফে রাহুলকে প্রার্থী করাতেই সকলের চোখ কপালে ঠেকে। গরু-মহিষ পাচারের অভিযোগে মামলা রয়েছে তাঁর বিরুদ্ধে। অস্ত্র রাখার দায়েও অভিযুক্ত। তিনমাস জেলে থাকার পর জামিনে ছাড়া পেয়েছে। তাঁকেই পঞ্চায়েত সভাপতি পদে টিকিট দিয়েছে বিজেপি।

এ নিয়ে ক্ষুব্ধ একাংশ বিজেপি নেতা-কর্মীও। তাদের বক্তব্য, একে তো সহিদুজ্জামান ওরফে রাহুলের বিরুদ্ধে গরু-মহিষ পাচারের মামলা রয়েছে। এর ওপর, কিছুদিন আগেও ছিলেন কংগ্রেসে। জেলা সভাপতি সুব্রত ভট্টাচার্য বলেন, ধলছড়াতেই প্রাক্তন মন্ত্রী সিদ্দেক আহমেদের বাড়ি। সেখানে রাহুল অনেকদিন ধরে ‘সিদ্দেক-ত্রাস’-এর বিরুদ্ধে লড়ছেন। তাই তাঁকে গরু-মহিষ চুরির মিথ্যা অভিযোগে ফাঁসানো হয়। গ্রামবাসী বিষয়টি জানেন বলে তাঁকেই টিকিট দেওয়ার দাবি ওঠে। দলের মণ্ডল কমিটিও তাঁর নামই জেলা কমিটির কাছে পাঠিয়েছে। তিনি আশাবাদী, ওই আসনটি অনেকদিন পরে বিজেপির দখলে যাবে।

November 20: Dholcherra panchayat has become a very spicy topic of discussion. Former Congress Minister Siddique Ahmed is a resident of this panchayat. However, the topic of discussion at present is not the former minister. People of the area are surprised to learn that Sohid-uj Jaman alias Rahul has got his candidature conformed from the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for the forthcoming Panchayat election. There are pending cases of smuggling cows and buffaloes against Rahul. Further, he has also been accused of keeping firearms. He was in jail for 3 months after which he got released on bail. BJP has given the ticket of Panchayat President to him.

This has led to grievance among a section of the party leaders and supporters. They have expressed the view that there are pending cases of cow and buffalo smuggling against Rahul. Moreover, he was in the Congress party even a few days ago. Meanwhile, the District President of BJP Subrata Bhattacharjee has claimed that Rahul has long been fighting against the corrupt ways of former minister Siddique Ahmed who stays in the same Dholcherra village.

Mr. Bhattacharjee said that this is the prime reason for which he has been falsely implicated in the case of smuggling cows. He said that the people of the locality and also the party workers at the grassroot level knows this. As such, they have recommended the name of Rahul to the district committee. He is confident that this particular seat will definitely be won by BJP after a long time.
