বনধ সর্বাত্মক, পিকেটিঙে নামলেন সাধারণ জনতাও, রাধেশ্যাম-কমলাক্ষ গ্রেফতার
৩ নভেম্বরঃ তিনসুকিয়ার হত্যাকাণ্ড বরাক উপত্যকার মানুষকে পথে নামিয়েছে। দল-মত নির্বিশেষে সবাই পিকেটিং করছেন। কাছাড়, করিমগঞ্জ, হাইলাকান্দি সর্বত্র এক দৃশ্য। কংগ্রেসিরা রাস্তায় নেমেছে। একই রাস্তায় একই সুরে স্লোগান দিচ্ছে গেরুয়া বাহিনী।
বহু সাধারণ জনতাকেও এ দিন পিকেটিঙের জন্য বেরিয়ে আসতে দেখা গিয়েছে। দোকানপাট, যানবাহন অবশ্য স্বতঃস্ফূর্তভাবে বন্ধ। তাল কেটেছে শুধু গুণোতসব। বিভ্রান্তিকর দুই নির্দেশ দিয়ে শেষপর্যন্ত গুণোতসব সম্পন্ন করতে নির্দেশ জারি করেছে সরকার। তাতে ছাত্র, শিক্ষক, অভিভাববকদের সমস্যায় পড়তে হয়েছে। বেশি সঙ্কটে পড়েছেন এক্সটারনাল ইভ্যালুয়েটররা। করিমগঞ্জ, হাইলাকান্দির অনেক স্কুলে ইভ্যালুয়েটর পৌঁছাতে পারেননি।
এর মধ্যে গুণোতসব বন্ধ করতে গিয়ে করিমগঞ্জে গ্রেফতার হলেন উত্তর করিমগঞ্জের কংগ্রেস বিধায়ক কমলাক্ষ দে পুরকায়স্থ। পুলিশ সুপার নিজে তাঁকে গাড়িতে তুলে অস্থায়ী জেলে নিয়ে গিয়েছেন। বিজেপিরও বহু সমর্থক নানা জায়গায় পিকেটিঙে গিয়ে গ্রেফতার হয়েছেন। এ পর্যন্ত তিন জেলায় ৪ শতাধিক পিকেটারকে গ্রেফতার করা হয়েছে।
ধৃতদের মধ্যে রয়েছেন করিমগঞ্জের এআইইউডিএফ সাংসদ রাধেশ্যাম বিশ্বাসও। বনধ আহ্বান নিয়ে এআইইউডিএফ নীরব থাকলেও শনিবার সকালে পিকেটিঙে বেরিয়ে পড়েন সাংসদ রাধেশ্যাম বিশ্বাস সহ দলীয় নেতা-কর্মীরা।
বরাকের সর্বত্র শান্তিতে বনধ চললেও করিমগঞ্জ জেলাশাসকের কার্যালয়ের সামনে ব্যারিকেড ভাঙতে গেলে নিরাপত্তা রক্ষীর লাঠির ঘায়ে এক মহিলা জখম হয়েছেন। তাকে হাসপাতালে পাঠানো হয়েছে। অভিযোগ, সিআরপি হঠাত বিনা প্ররোচনায় ধরপাকড় শুরু করে। লাঠি চালায়।
Moreover, another rare sight was visible on the streets. Common people who are generally aloof and who prefer to sleep extra hours during any other strike were seen picketing on the streets of the town spontaneously. Even the saffron brigade was there waving flags and raising slogans against the barbaric killing of the Bengalis at Tinsukia.Shops and markets were totally closed. Vehicular traffic came to a standstill.
However, due to two contradictory orders regarding conduct of Gunotsav, teachers, students and guardians were in great trouble. But those assigned the responsibility of External Evaluators were in real deep water. A large number of External Evaluators failed to reach their assigned schools in Karimganj and Hailakandi.
Meanwhile, Kamalakhya Dey purkayastha, MLA of North Karimganj was arrested by the police when he was trying to obstruct Gunoutsav in a school at Karimganj. He was taken by the Police Super in his own vehicle and kept in a make shift confinement. Many BJP picketers were also arrested at various places. Till now more than 400 picketers belonging to different party and groups were arrested. MP Radheshyam Biswas from AIUDF was also arrested by the police during picketing.
At Silchar, Congress party workers led by the District President Pradip Kumar Deb was found to carry on protest demonstration near the Capital Point. Barricades were built up with bamboo poles so that no vehicles could ply. Speaking to way2barak, District Congress President Pradip Kumar Dey said that the bandh was total successful. He further thanked the BJP for supporting the bandh actively.
Apart from the Congress and BJP, supporters of various other organisations like CRPC, Rastrabadi Joutho Moncho were also seen picketing in the town.
Though the bandh remain largely peaceful at Barak Valley, but a lady was injured, when police inflicted mild lathi charge when the picketers were trying to break the barricade near the office of the Deputy Commissioner, Karimganj. She was immediately rushed to the hospital. It has been alleged that CRPF without any reason started lathi charge upon the picketers. Meanwhile, at Hailakandi district also, the bandh was a total success.
