কাটাখালঃ দিনভর তল্লাশিতেও তিনজনের খোঁজ মেলেনি

২৯ অক্টোবরঃ সোমবার সারাদিন কাটাখাল নদীতে রাজ্য দুর্যোগ মোকাবিলা বাহিনী তল্লাশি চালালেও নৌকাডুবিতে নিখোঁজ তিনজনের কারও খোঁজ মেলেনি। রবিবার বিকেলের দুর্ঘটনার পরই এরা নদীতে নেমে পড়ে। অন্ধকার নেমে আসায় সন্ধ্যায় অভিযান স্থগিত রাখতে হয়। সোমবার সকালেই তারা নিজেদের কাজ শুরু করে দেন। হাইলাকান্দির বাহিনীর সঙ্গে যোগ দেন শিলচর থেকে যাওয়া এসডিআরএফ জওয়ান এবং ডুবুরীর দল। কিন্তু সন্ধ্যায় নিষ্ফলা অভিযান ফের মুলতুবি করা হয়।

অতিরিক্ত জেলাশাসক অমলেন্দু রায় দীর্ঘক্ষণ নদীঘাটে তাঁদের কাজকর্ম তদারকি করেন। তিনি জানান, মঙ্গলবারও নিখোঁজ নৌ-যাত্রীদের সন্ধান চালানো হবে। তবে সকলের অনুমান, দুই ভাই সুমিত পাশি (২২) ও অজয় পাশি (১৯) সহ প্রতিবন্ধী রমেশ পাশি (৪০) জলে তলিয়ে গিয়েছেন । দুই ছেলের এই পরিণতিতে দিশেহারা অবস্থা লালাছড়া চা বাগানের শ্রমিক মেঘলাল পাশির। কাঁদতে কাঁদতেই জানালেন, সুমিতের বিয়ের সবকিছু ঠিকঠাক। দুয়েকদিনের মধ্যে পাকাকথা হয়ে যেত। কান্নার রোল উঠেছে রমেশের বাড়িতেও।

On Monday too, after searching for the entire day, SDRF failed to trace the whereabouts of the three persons who were drowned in Katakhal River after their boat capsized. SDRF set out in their mission on Sunday evening itself. But as night approached, the search operation was halted. On Monday morning, SDRF again set out on their venture. Today, SDRF team from Hailkandi was also accompanied by its counterpart from Silchar. River divers from Silchar also took part in the search operation.

Present during the operation was ADC Amalendu Roy. He informed that the search for the three missing persons will continue on Tuesday also. However, people are of the view that the two brothers Sumit Pashi (22) and Ajoy Pashi (19) along with Ramesh pashi (40) are no more alove. This incident has totally shattered the condition of Meghlal Pashi, the father of the two brothers who were drowned. He informed in tears that the marriage of his elder son Sumit was fixed. Situation was also very tensed in the house of Ramesh.
