Rotary Greenland lend its hands in beautification of Arun Chanda Park

৯ অক্টোবর : রোটারি ডিস্ট্রিক্ট গ্রান্ট-এর অধীনে শিলচর সদরঘাটের অরুণ চন্দ পার্কের সৌন্দর্য বৃদ্ধি করল রোটারি গ্রিনল্যান্ড শিলচর। নতুনভাবে সাজানো এই পার্কটি ফিতে কেটে আনুষ্ঠানিকভাবে উদ্বোধন করলেন শিলচর পুরসভার চেয়ারম্যান নীহারেন্দ্র নারায়ণ ঠাকুর। প্রসঙ্গত, ২০১৭-১৮ রোটারি বর্ষে এই পার্কটির সৌন্দর্য বৃদ্ধির দায়িত্ব রোটারি গ্রিনল্যান্ডের হাতে তুলে দিয়েছিল শিলচর পুরসভা।

পার্ক উদ্বোধন উপলক্ষে আয়োজিত অনুষ্ঠানে পুরপতি ঠাকুর রোটারি গ্রিনল্যান্ডের বিভিন্ন সমাজসেবামূলক কাজের ভূয়সী প্রশংসা করেন। রোটারি গ্রিনল্যান্ডের সভানেত্রী মধুমিতা পাল বলেন, ভবিষ্যতে তারা বিভিন্ন জনহিতকর কর্মসূচির ধারা বজায় রাখবেন। এই পার্কটি শিলচরবাসীর জন্য গর্ব বলেও তিনি উল্লেখ করেছেন।

তাছাড়া এই পার্কটির সৌন্দর্য বৃদ্ধির জন্য তিনি রোটারি গ্রিনল্যান্ডের সদ্য প্রাক্তন সভাপতি রঞ্জিত ভট্টাচার্য এবং সদ্য-প্রাক্তন ডিস্ট্রিক্ট গভর্নর সুনীল সরফের আন্তরিক সহযোগিতার কথা উল্লেখ করেন। এদিনের অনুষ্ঠানে অন্যদের মধ্যে ছিলেন দীপক ব্রহ্ম, রঞ্জিত ভট্টাচার্য, বিশ্বজিৎ বণিক, সৌরভ চক্রবর্তী, মধুসূদন পাল, সাহিনা মাঝারভূঁইয়া, অজয় কুমার আগরওয়াল প্রমুখ।

October 9: Rotary Greenland Silchar came forward and lend its hand in the beutification of the Arun Chandra Park at Sadarghat under the aegis of Rotary Distric Grant. Niharendra Narayan Thakur, Chairman of Silchar Municipal Board inaugurated the newly decorated park by cutting the ribbon. It needs mention here that the park was handed over to Rotary Greenland for beautification by Silchar Municipal Board in the year 2017-18.

While speaking during the occasion, Municipal Chairperson Niharendra Narayan Thakur showered lavish praises upon Rotary Greenland for incolving themselves in social service. Madhumita Paul, President of Rotary Greenland said that she will endeavour her level best to keep going the activities related to the welfare of the society. She further said that this park is a matter of pride for the people of Silchar.

Apart from this, Mrs. Paul also expressed her gratitude and thanks to the former President of Rotary Greenland Ranjit Bhattacharjee and also to the former District Governor Sunil Sarf for their overall cooperation. Present during the metting were Dipak Brahma, Ranjit Bhattacharjee, Biswajit Banik, Sauravh Chakraborty, Madhusudhan Paul, Sahina Mazarbhuiya, Ajay Kumar Agarwal among others.
