মাসে একবার ফাটক বাজারে সাফাই চালাবে আর্ট অব লিভিং
Art of Living joins Swachhata Hi Seva mission

২ অক্টোবর : জাতির পিতা মহাত্মা গান্ধীর ১৫০তম জন্মজয়ন্তী উপলক্ষে কেন্দ্র সরকারের গ্রহণ করা ‘স্বচ্ছতাই সেবা’ অভিযান আজ সারা দেশজুড়ে বিভিন্ন অনুষ্ঠানের মধ্য দিয়ে পালন করা হচ্ছে। বরাক উপত্যকার তিন জেলায়ও চলছে এ নিয়ে স্বচ্ছতা কর্মসূচি। শিলচর পুরসভার উদ্যোগে আজ সকালে স্বচ্ছতা র‍্যালি এবং ফাটক বাজারে যে সাফাই অভিযান চালানো হয়েছে, তাতে বিভিন্ন সংগঠনের সঙ্গে অন্যতম ছিল আর্ট অব লিভিং।

স্বচ্ছতা অভিযানের অঙ্গ হিসেবে আজ আর্ট অব লিভিং-এর শিলচর শাখাও শহরে এক র‍্যালি বের করে।পরে শিলচর পুরসভার উদ্যোগে ফাটক বাজারে সাফাই কর্মসূচিতে যোগ দেন আর্ট অব লিভিং-এর সদস্যরা। আর্ট অব লিভিং-এর প্রায় ৬০ জন ভক্ত ও শিক্ষক উত্তরপূর্বের বৃহত্তর ও আবর্জনাপূর্ণ এই বাজারটি পরিচ্ছন্ন করে তোলার কাজে এ দিন অংশ নিয়েছেন।

এ ব্যাপারে আর্ট অব লিভিং-এর আসাম রাজ্য শিক্ষক সংযোজক তথা প্রশিক্ষক পুলক ভট্টাচার্য বলেন, আর্ট অব লিভিং-এর প্রতিষ্ঠাতা শ্রী রবিশংকর বহু বছর আগে সেবা ভলান্টিয়ার প্রজেক্ট-এর সূচনা করেছিলেন। মহাত্মা গান্ধীর জন্মদিনে স্বচ্ছতা কর্মসূচির আয়োজন করে প্রকৃতঅর্থেই এই ভারতাত্মাকে সম্মান জানানো হয়েছে বলে তিনি মনে করেন।

পুলক ভট্টাচার্য আরও বলেন, আর্ট অব লিভিং-এর শিলচর শাখা স্থির করেছে যে, প্রতি মাসে একবার ফাটক বাজারে স্বচ্ছতা অভিযান চালাবে। এই উদ্যোগ নেওয়ার জন্য আর্ট অব লিভিং শিলচর পুরসভাকেও ধন্যবাদ জানিয়েছে।

October 2: To commemorate the 150th Birth anniversary of the Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi, the Government of India has undertaken ‘Swachhata Hi Seva’ mission all throughout the country. The ripples of the wave of this cleanliness mission were felt even in all the three districts of Barak valley.

Silchar Municipal Board (SMB) organized a rally in the early morning on Tuesday wherein leading citizens of the town along with a host of associations took part. This was followed by a cleanliness drive at Fatak Bazar, Silchar. Among others, Art of Living, Silchar chapter also involved themselves in this mammoth task of ‘Swachhata Hi Seva.’

The volunteers of the Silchar chapter of Art of Living (AOL) took out a rally in the morning. They too joined the Swachhata drive undertaken by Silchar Municipality at Fatak Bazar. Around 60 devotees and teachers of the AOL offered their services in cleaning the heaps of garbage at Fatak Bazar, which is undoubtedly one of the biggest and dirtiest wholesale markets in the entire North East India.

While speaking to way2barak, Pulok Bhattacharjee, Faculty, State Teachers coordinator, Assam AOL said “AOL Founder Sri Sri Ravishankarji started the concept of seva volunteer project many years ago, which is continuing till now.” He feels that the cleanliness drive undertaken on the birthday of Mahatma Gandhi is an appropriate measure to pay homage to this great soul of India.

Pulok Bhattacharjee further said that the Silchar chapter of AOL has decided to clean Fatak bazaar atleast once in every month. The AOL expressed thanks to Silchar Municipality for undertaking such a noble venture.
