Condition of UK PM Boris Johnson worsens, moved to ICU
April 7: The condition of Prime Minister Boris Johnson of the United Kingdom has worsened and has been moved to the intensive care unit as a precaution in the St Thomas Hospital in London, Downing Street on Monday evening.
He was moved to the hospital on Sunday night, 10 days after testing for COVID-19. The decision was made by Johnson’s medical team after his condition worsened over the course of Monday afternoon.The PM has asked Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab, who is the First Secretary of State, to deputise for him where necessary.
As the United Kingdom moved into the third week of the lockdown, the Department of Health said the death toll had increased to 5,373 and the number of the number of patients testing positive for the virus rose to 51,068.
