Thousand Sayantans & Heart Care Society organises ‘Cardio Awareness Meet’

Shubhalaxmi Choudhury donated scooty ambulance to the Forum

February 24: Heart disease can often be prevented when people become aware of the various aspects of heart related issues. Proper awareness can go a long way in leading a healthy life. With this aim in view, ‘Thousand Sayantans’ in collaboration with Women’s Forum (Barak Valley Chapter), Heart Care Society of Assam organised a “Cardio Awareness Meet” on 23 February, 2020 at Ellora Heritage Hall, Silchar.

The ‘Cardio Awareness Meet’ was graced by Dr. Nirmal Kanti Bhattacharjee, Senior Consultant Cardiologist & President of Heart Care Society of Assam, Former Union Minister Kabindra Purkayastha, Padma Shri Dr. Ravi Kannan, Dr. Kumar Kanti Das, Dr. P.C. Sharma, Lion Subhas Choudhury, Kanad Purkayastha, Haran Dey among others.

The main motive of the “Cardio Awareness Meet” is to disseminate information on how to prevent, survive and live after heart attack. Dr. Nirmal Kanti Bhattacharjee, Senior Consultant Cardiologist & President of Heart Care Society of Assam was the key speaker. In his presentation, Dr. Nirmal Kanti Bhattacharjee ably demonstrated the various functions of the heart and how to keep one;s heart safe from any attack. The main motive of the “Cardio Awareness Meet” is to disseminate information on how to prevent, survive and live after heart attack.

Eminent cardiologist, Dr P. C Sharma in his address gave the commitment of associating with Women’s Forum of Heart Care Society of Assam for conduct of emergency heart care training programme in Silchar.

Shubhalaxmi Choudhury, daughter of Swarnali Choudhury, Vice Chairperson of Women’s Forum (Barak Valley Chapter), Heart Care Society of Assam donated a Scooty to the Forum which will soon be modified as scooty ambulance. In her brief speech, Swarnali Choudhury urged upon all to take the matter of heart very seriously and abide the advice of the specialists.

The programme was also attended by Pallabita Sharma, Assistant Secretary of Women’s Forum, Jhumna Chakraborty, Saumitra Shankar Choudhury and many other members of the Forum and Thousand Sayantans.
