১৭ সেপ্টেম্বর : কাছাড় জেলার বড়যাত্রাপুর জিপির দুর্গাপুর গ্রামের গরিব জনগণ খাদ্য সুরক্ষার চাল ও কেরোসিন দেওয়ার দাবি জানালেন। আজ গ্রামের বাসিন্দাদের পক্ষে এক প্রতিনিধি দল এ ব্যাপারে কাছাড়ের খাদ্য ও অসামরিক সরবরাহ বিভাগের যুগ্ম সঞ্চালকের সঙ্গে দেখা করে গ্রামের ডিলার এক্সানুল হক বড়ভূঁইয়ার বিরুদ্ধে অভিযোগ আনেন। এই প্রতিনিধি দলটিকে নেতৃত্ব দেয় গ্রাহক সুরক্ষা সমিতি।

প্রসঙ্গত, গত ৩-৪ বছর ধরে গ্রামের গরিব জনগণের খাদ্য সুরক্ষার সামগ্রী আত্মস্যাতের অভিযোগে ডিলার এক্সানুলকে ৩ মাসের জন্য বরখাস্ত করা হয়েছে। এ দিন গ্রামবাসী ডিলারের বরখাস্তের সময়সীমা আরও বাড়ানোর দাবি জানান।

গ্রাহক সুরক্ষা সমিতির সম্পাদক বিপ্লব গোস্বামী বলেন, যুগ্ম সঞ্চালক ও সুপারিন্টেন্ডেন্ট জনগণের অভিযোগ গুরুত্ব সহকারে শুনেছেন এবং এ ব্যাপারে পদক্ষেপ গ্রহণের আশ্বাস দিয়েছেন।

September 17: Demand was raised by the poor people of Durgapur village in Barjatrapur GP of Cachar district to provide them rice and kerosene as part of the food security scheme. In this regard, representatives of the village on Monday met the Joint Director of Food & Civil Supplies department. The delegation alleged that A.H. Barbhuiya, the dealer of their village is involved in corrupt practices. The delegation was led by Biplob Goswami, Secretary of Grahak Surokkha Samiti.

On charges of being involved in misappropriating materials given as a part of food security to the poor villagers, A.H. Barbhuiya was suspended for a period of 3 months. The villagers alleged that the dealer was involved in corrupt practices since the last 3 to 4 years. They further demanded that the period of suspension of the dealer should be enhanced.

Biplob Goswami, Secretary of the Grahak Surokkha Samiti said that the Joint Director and Superintendent have listened to the allegation of the people with apt attention. They have also assured to take appropriate action.
