Youth killed in firing by miscreant at Karimganj

১৭ সেপ্টেম্বর: করিমগঞ্জ জেলার পাথারকান্দি থানাধীন পূর্ব মধুরবন্দে দুষ্কৃতীর গুলিতে মৃত্যু হল ৩৫ বছরের যুবকের। পুলিশ জানিয়েছে, নিহতের নাম হাসাদ উদ্দিন। কাল রাতে বাজার থেকে বাড়ি ফেরার পথে আক্রান্ত হন তিনি। হাতে তৈরি বন্দুকের গুলিতে ঘটনাস্থলেই মৃত্যু হয় তার। প্রাথমিক তদন্তে জমিজমা সংক্রান্ত বিবাদকেই কারণ বলে মনে করছে পুলিশ। প্রতিবেশী আব্দুল খালেক, বতল উদ্দিন ও আব্দুল জলিলকে অভিযুক্ত করে মামলা দায়ের করা হয়েছে। গুলিতে মৃত্যুর ঘটনায় এলাকায় চাঞ্চল্য সৃষ্টি হয়েছে।

September 17: A 35 year old man was killed in an incident of firing at East Madhurband area of Patharkandi Police Station in Karimganj district. Police has informed that the name of the deceased was Hasad Uddin. Yesterday night, Hasad was killed when he was returning home from the market. He died on the spot after he was fired shots from a hand-made pistol. Prima facie evidence has revealed that land dispute may have been the cause of this murder. A case has been registered accusing three neighbours Abdul Khalek, Bothol Uddin and Abdul Jalil. This incident has led to an atmosphere of tense in that area.
