মুখ্যসচিবের কনভয় আটকানোর প্রয়াস ব্যর্থ করল পুলিশ

১০ সেপ্টেম্বরঃ বনধের মধ্যে মুখ্যসচিবের আবার ঘোরাঘুরি কী ! তাই অলোক কুমার যখন আজ বিমানবন্দর থেকে শিলচর শহরে ঢুকছিলেন, তখন তাঁর কনভয় আটকে দিতে চেয়েছিল কংগ্রেস।  সদরঘাট সেতুর মুখে দাঁড়িয়ে ছিলেন সবাই। তাঁদের জেলা কংগ্রেস সভাপতি প্রদীপকুমার দে, সাধারণ সম্পাদক অভিজিত পাল, যুব কংগ্রেস সভাপতি জাভেদ আহমেদও ছিলেন। টের পেয়েই পুলিশ সেখানে শক্ত ব্যারিকেড গড়ে তোলে। কংগ্রেসিদের তাড়িয়ে দেওয়া হয় সেখান থেকে। পরে মুখ্যসচিবের কনভয় নিরাপদে শিলচর শহরে প্রবেশ করে। তাঁর সঙ্গে বরাক সফরে এসেছেন সীমান্ত শাখার অ্যাডিশনাল ডিজিপি ভাস্করজ্যোতি মহন্তও। সার্কিট হাউসে কিছুসময় বিশ্রাম করে তাঁরা ঢোকেন জেলাশাসকের কার্যালয়ে। বিকেল ৫টা থেকে শুরু হয় দফায় দফায় বৈঠক।

September 10: The picketers during the Bharat Bandh called by the Congress on Monday were so excited and full of enthusiasm that even the convoy of the Chief Secretary Alok Kumar was stopped. He was at Silchar to hold high level talks. When his convoy was on its way to Silchar from the airport, picketers already stationed near the Sadarghat bridge were all prepared to stop his vehicle. Presnt there were Congress district President Pradip Kumar Dey, General Secretary Abhijit Paul, Youth Congress President Javed Ahmed and others.

However, sensing the mood of the picketers, police cordoned off the entire area and drove away the Congress leaders from that place. As a result, the convoy of the Chief Secretary could reach Silchar without any further obstacle. He was also accompanied by ADGP (Border) Bhaskar Jyoti Mohanta. After taking rest for a while at the Circuit House, they came to the office of the Deputy Commissioner, Cachar, where they attended a number of meetings.
