২৯ সেপ্টেম্বর: যুবকের মৃতদেহ উদ্ধার ঘিরে শিলচর জুড়ে চাঞ্চল্য দেখা দিয়েছে৷ পুলিশ জানিয়েছে, নিহতের নাম সুদীপ দেব৷ বয়স ২৬ বছর৷ মাথার পেছনে আঘাতের চিহ্ন রয়েছে৷ তা দেখেই পুলিশের সন্দেহ, খুন করা হয়েছে তাকে৷

রবিবার প্রাতঃভ্রমণে বেরিয়ে লোচনবৈরাগী রোডের মানুষ মৃতদেহটি দেখতে পান৷ কিন্তু কেউ শনাক্ত করতে পারছিলেন না৷ শেষে সকাল আটটা নাগাদ দাস কলোনির উদয়ন কমপ্লেক্স থেকে হন্তদন্ত হয়ে ছুটে যান এক বৃদ্ধা৷ তিনিই তাকে তার নাতি সুদীপ দেব বলে শনাক্ত করেন৷

বৃদ্ধা জানান, শনিবার রাতে দুই-তিনজন বন্ধু বাড়ি গিয়ে তাকে নিয়ে বেরোয়৷ অনিচ্ছা সত্ত্বেও তাকে অনেকটা জোর করেই বাইক নিয়ে বেরোতে বাধ্য করা হয়৷ তার সন্দেহ, বন্ধুরাই তাকে ডেকে নিয়ে খুন করে৷

September 29: The recovery of dead body in the heart of Silchar town on Sunday morning has given rise to tensed atmosphere. Police has identified the dead as Sudip Deb (26). There are signs of injuries on the back side of the head of the deceased. This has led the police to speculate that the incident may be a case of murder.

On Sunday morning, when people were on the streets for walk, they noticed a dead body lying on the main road at Lochan Bairagi Road (Radhamadhab Road). But nobody there was able to identify the body. However, at around 8 AM, an old man rushed to the spot and identified the deceased to be his grandson Sudip.

The old man informed that on Sunday night, some of the friends of Sudip came to their house asked him to go out along with them. Sudip was reluctant to go out, but after repeated persuasion, he went along with them in a motor bike. Since then he did not return. Almost 12 hours later, his dead body was found on the road.

The spot where the dead body was found is at a stone’s throw from the residence of Silchar MP Dr. Rajdeep Roy.
