শিলচরে এটিএমে হানা, গ্রেফতার দুই দুষ্কৃতী
ATM theft busted: 2 caught red handed

শিলচর শহরের কলেজ রোডে ফের এটিএম-এ দুষ্কৃতী হানার ঘটনা ঘটেছে। মঙ্গলবার রাত আটটা নাগাদ দুই চোর এটিএমের তালা ভেঙে ভেতরে ঢোকে। তারা প্রথমে এটিএমে থাকা একটি ব্যাটারি হাতিয়ে নেওয়ার চেষ্টা করে। সে সময় পথচারী একটি মেয়ে তাদের দেখে সন্দেহ হওয়ায় পাশের দোকানদারকে বিষয়টি জানায়। সঙ্গে সঙ্গে সেখানে আশপাশের লোকজন জড়ো হয়ে দুই চোরকে হাতেনাতে ধরে ফেলেন। পরে তাদের পুলিশে সমঝে দেওয়া হয়। খবর পেয়ে ব্যাংকের লোকজনও সেখানে ছুটে আসেন।

জানা গেছে, এই এটিএমটি স্টেট ব্যাংকের নিউ শিলচর শাখার অধীনে রয়েছে। পুলিশ জানিয়েছে,ধৃত দুই চোরের মধ্যে একজন সমিত ভট্টাচার্যের বাড়ি মেহেরপুরে,অন্যজন কনকপুরের বাসিন্দা সেকুল লস্কর। এই দুই চোর বিভিন্ন এটিএম চুরির ঘটনায় যুক্ত রয়েছে বলে পুলিশের ধারণা। পুলিশ দুই চোরকে গ্রেফতার করে থানায় নিয়ে যায়। তাছাড়া তাদের ব্যবহার করা যন্ত্রপাতিও পুলিশ উদ্ধার করেছে।

Since the last few months robbery at ATMs had become a common phenomenon at Silchar. Finally, two robbers were caught red handed on Tuesday night while they were trying to break open an ATM of State Bank of India (SBI) at Ambicapatty point.

Sumit Bhattacharjee of Meherpur and Sabul Laskar of Kanakpur entered into the SBI ATM at Ambicapatty and were trying to break the machine. At that moment, a man went to the ATM for withdrawal of money. Noticing suspicious activity inside, the man raised a hue and cry.  People from the nearby area came at once and nabbed the two thieves. Police was called. Police came and arrested both of them.
