Cachar College: B.B. Das removed as G.B. President by DHE, Inspector of Schools takes charge of Principal

২৯ জুনঃ কাছাড় কলেজে পরিচালন সমিতির সভাপতি ও অধ্যক্ষার লড়াইয়ে শেষচালে বাজিমাত করলেন লক্ষ্মীতন সিংহ। উচ্চশিক্ষা সঞ্চালক শনিবার এক নির্দেশে পরিচালন সমিতির সভাপতি পদ থেকে ড. বিবি দাসকে সরিয়ে দিয়েছেন। একইসঙ্গে ড. দাসের পৌরোহিত্যে শুক্রবার অনুষ্ঠিত পরিচালন সমিতির সভায় যে ড. অনিত্যবিনোদ দেবকে অধ্যক্ষের দায়িত্ব প্রদানের সিদ্ধান্ত নেওয়া হয়েছিল, তা বাতিল করে দেওয়া হয়। রবিবারই লক্ষ্মীতন সিংহের কর্মজীবন ফুরোচ্ছে। সে দিন জেলার বিদ্যালয় পরিদর্শককে গিয়ে লক্ষ্মীতন সিংহের কাছ থেকে অধ্যক্ষের দায়িত্ব বুঝে নিতে বিভাগীয় সঞ্চালক নির্দেশ দিয়েছেন। এ যে অস্থায়ী ব্যবস্থা সে-কথাও সঞ্চালক জানিয়ে দিয়েছেন।

এ দিকে, কলেজ পরিচালন সমিতির সভাপতি কে হবেন, এ নিয়ে এথনও কোনও ইঙ্গিত মেলেনি। তবে এ দিন বিবি দাসকে পরিচালন সমিতিতে উপাচার্য মনোনীত সদস্যদের বরিষ্ঠতমকে দায়িত্ব বুঝিয়ে দিতে বলেছেন।

June 29: The great battle between President, Governing Body and Principal, Cachar College reached its culmination. On Saturday, in an order issued by Director of Higher Education (DHE), Assam, Dr. Bijoy Bhusan Das, was removed from the post of President, Governing Body of Cachar College, Silchar with immediate effect. In the same order, the Principal of the college was requested to serve the oder to the President, Governing Body immediately.

Further, the Director of Higher Education (DHE), Assam also issued another letter on 29 June, 2019, whereby the charge of the Principal of Cachar College, Silchar was directed to be temporarily handed over to the Inspector of Schools, Cachar by Saturday. It needs mention here that the present Principal in-charge, Dr. K. Lakhiton Singha will be retiring from service on 30 July, 2019. However, as 30 July is Sunday, so she was asked to hand over charge to the Inspector of Schools, Cachar on Saturday. In the said letter, the DHE further stated that this is purely a temporary arrangement until regular Principal is appointed.

On Friday, in a meeting of the Governing Body of Cachar College, it was decided that the present Principal would hand over charge to Dr. A.B.Deb. The meeting was president over by Dr. B.B.Das. However, in the light of the letter issued by DHE on Friday, this decision of the Governing Body also stands as null and void.
