১০ ঘণ্টার ডিমা হাসাও জেলা বনধ নির্বিঘ্নে কাটল। কোনও অপ্রীতিকর ঘটনার খবর নেই। হাফলঙে অধিকাংশ দোকানপাট-যানবাহন বন্ধ থাকলেও জেলার অন্যত্র মিশ্র সাড়া মেলে। উত্তর কাছাড় পার্বত্য স্বশাসিত পরিষদের মুখ্য কার্যবাহী সদস্য দেবোলাল গারলোসাকে গ্রেফতারের দাবিতে কংগ্রেস এই বনধ ডাকে। বিজেপি বনধের বিরোধিতায় মাঠে সক্রিয় ছিল। রেল চলাচলকে বনধের আওতার বাইরে রাখায় যাত্রীরা দুর্ভোগ থেকে রেহাই পান।

এ দিকে, দেবোলাল গারলোসা জেলে মানুষ পাঠিয়ে প্রাণনাশের হুমকি দিচ্ছেন বলে অভিযোগ করেছেন প্রাক্তন জঙ্গি মিপুত রাইজুং ওরফে অ্যাকশন ডিমাসা। তিনিই পার্বত্য পরিষদের পূর্বতন প্রধান পূর্ণেন্দু লাংথাসা ও কার্যবাহী সদস্য নিন্দু লাংথাসা হত্যা মামলার রাজসাক্ষী হয়েছেন। আদালতকে জানিয়েছেন, দেবোলালের নির্দেশেই পূর্ণেন্দুকে হত্যা করা হয়েছে। নিন্দু-কে দেবোলাল নিজে মেরেছেন। এখন রাজসাক্ষী হওয়া বিরত না থাকলে তাঁর পরিবারেরও ক্ষতি হবে বলে হুমকি দেওয়া হচ্ছে। হাইকোর্টকে চিঠি লিখে অ্যাকশন জানিয়েছেন, নজিত কেম্প্রাই নামে এক প্রাক্তন জঙ্গি গুয়াহাটি সেন্ট্রাল জেলে গিয়ে তাঁর সঙ্গে দেখা করেন। এর পরেই দেবোলালের বার্তা হিসেবে হুঁশিয়ারি শুনিয়ে দেন। অ্যাকশন ডিমাসা হাইকোর্টকে লেখা চিঠির প্রতিলিপি প্রধানমন্ত্রী এবং সুপ্রিম কোর্টের প্রধান বিচারপতির কাছেও পাঠিয়েছেন।

The 10 hours bandh convened at Dima Hasao was peaceful. There was no report of any untoward incident in the district. However, though most of shops remained close and vehicular traffic almost ceased to run at Haflong but in other parts of the district, there was mixed response. The bandh was convened by the Congress as a mark of protest for arresting Debolal Garlosa, Chief Executive Member of the North Cachar Autonomous Hill Council. BJP was, however, active in the field opposing the bandh. As the train service was kept outside the purview of the bandh, the passengers expressed a sign of relief.

On the other hand, former militant Miputh Raijung alias Action Dimasa alleged that Debolal Garlosa has sent his man to the jail and threatened to kill him. Action Dimasa has become the government witness of the murder case of former chief of Hill Council Purnendu Langthasa and executive member Nindu Langthasa. He has revealed before the court that Purnendu was murdered at the instance of Debolal. He also testified that Nindu was killed by Debola himself. In a letter addressed to High Court, Action Dimasa has informed that a former militant Najith Camprai went to meet him at Guwahati Central Jail. Najith threatened Action of dire consequences on behalf of Debolal. He further stated that unless and until he refrains from being government witness, even his family will not be spared.
